A&M tournament

Postby CP18 on Mon Nov 07, 2005 3:50 pm

Kudos to the A&M guys and Coach Scaz once again for running an outstanding tournament.

Also, props to the tourney hosts, A&M, for taking a hit on the chin game wise to keep all the teams happy in the College A bracket with some of the late confusion due to the High School Select team. A&M went 2-0 by defeating U of H and Baylor and were unable to get a shot at Tech or TxState for the Tourney Championship due to the late re-arranging of the brackets.

I was impressed with alot of the face off guys. It seemed like Tech, Texas State, UT, and UNT all had really good guys. Does any body know the names of these guys. I cant wait to watch them during regular season, and see who gets All Conf.

Faceoff guys

Postby JStoops on Mon Nov 07, 2005 6:14 pm

UNT's faceoff guy is Reid Singleton (junior). He was all conference last year. He'll have another great year.

D pole

Postby JStoops on Mon Nov 07, 2005 6:20 pm

I played with Coppel's team this weekend and we had a long pole from Southwestern play with us who was sick. The kid has only had a stick in his hand for 2-3 years and he was one of the best poles I saw all weekend. Props to Alex ? , not sure what his last name is.

Did OU make the tourney and if so what division did they compete in and how did they do? Were there other new teams that made a good showing at the tourney?

St. Edward's beat Trinity, Southwestern, and Oklahoma State to win the championship in Div. B. They looked much more solid than they have in recent years.

lets just give it to him this year again. that way we can skip all the politicking that we had last season.

i hope he looked good against the college teams and not the HS Select team. or maybe he was trying to dodge the HS FOGOs to pad his ego?
peace.

UNT

Postby Karl Lynch on Tue Nov 08, 2005 4:07 pm

UNT did not play the HS team.

We played OSU, UT, and Tech (Division A North teams). Reid played well on a bad ankle scoring in the OSU and Tech games. He did well at face-offs but needed more support from his wing players.

Jessexy - you don't need to give Reid anything, because he will earn it on the field - just like Chris Files and Ryan Davis did.
