Perhaps this guy can help bring some sanity back to this conference and guide the GRLC down the road of undoing what was done at the fall meeting to Lindenwood University.

I agree, Lindenwood is a great team, and Troy is a great guy......but I do think Lindenwood violated some of the rules. Some of these rules infractions were discussed at our fall meeting. They have become a power house in our league and National contenders within just a few years of ever having a team at all, and they are bringing in kids from all over, including many NCAA transfers. There must be something going on there for this to be possible. This is not to say that this is the only reason why they were discipline, and if that were the case then I would completely disagree with what has happened, but many other things were factored in. I know there is a lot to this, and I know I will be scrutinized for going against everyone else who says that Lindenwood did nothing wrong, but after hearing and reading what I had before, during, and since our meeting, I feel differently.

I'm not taking anything away from the character of the players or Troy by saying this, however. I still think very of them otherwise, which is why we will continue to play them, but in my opinion the way things came out was the correct way.

Anyway, to stay on topic at least a little bit, I'm sure Brian will help improve our conference in any way he can. We look forward to his leadership.

It is not a big secret how we attract these great players. 95% of them live in St. Louis, some stayed in town after high school, and others came home for different reasons. Example: I went to Southwest Missouri State my freshman year, and left not to go to Lindenwood, but b/c I was sick of the school. I personally had two options in the St. Louis area 1) Go to Meremac 2) Go to LU; A family friend told me LU was starting a team and was looking for a goalie.

If you still want to play highly organized lacrosse and live close to St. Louis, we are the best option. I went to high school at CBC, we have 10 CBC players on the team. We network. How did we get Justin Combs???? I played lacrosse at CBC with goalie John Hunt, who played at Towson. Hunt is a friend of mine, and was friends with Justin at Towson. Justin wanted to transfer, Hunt recommended LU. We benefited from it. The school and the facilties sell itself.

Lindenwood decided to start a team at a really good time; and was lucky to land a great guy like Troy Hood. When you are successful in a short amount of time, in anything in life, you are going to have your critics. Our success on the field over teh past 3 years is through hours upon hours of hard work-not short cuts, or cheating. When we won our first title back in 2003, we did not exactly have the best team. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you practice hard and commit yourself fully to the team--that is what we preach. When you win people want to come to play for your school, that is what we are experiencing now. There is no other way to explain this.

We have had our university and lacrosse club investigated for the past 3 years, and have complied fully and professionally every single time. We have explained how we operate over and over. It has been determined that we do nothing wrong. It almost seems like certain individuals are whining and won't move on. I don't know what else we can say or do. Growing the greatest game in the world should not be this hard.

Welcome aboard Commissioner Mosher.

Fellas,

We have two other topics to discuss the situation at Lindenwood - one is in the Main Forum and one is in the Premium Forum

Please DO NOT hijack threads in the future. Brian Mosher being named as GRLC commissioner has nothing to do with Lindenwood. Stay on topic as stated in the message board rules.
