Former WDIA Laxer Needs Our Help

Postby Kevin Boyle on Wed Oct 26, 2005 8:09 am

Please vote for former Truman State Women's Lacrosse Player/Coach, MARIBETH BOYLE, to be Chicago's next Traffic Girl!

To check out Maribeth's Audition tape and vote for her on Friday, go to:

http://www.nbc5.com/trafficapprentice/index.html

My sister, Maribeth Boyle, has been selected as a finalist to be NBC5 Chicago's "Traffic Apprentice". The Finalists audition tapes are being aired on NBC5 Chicago mornings this week. The Finalists will be up for internet voting on Friday. The 5 Highest vote-winners will move on to the next round and get the opportunity to do a live traffic report, and possibly be awarded a 3 month contract to do traffic reports for NBC5 this winter.

Maribeth's audition tape was aired this morning, and is available at the link I pasted above. She did a great Job. Now she really needs our help to move on to the next level. Please visit the website that I pasted and vote for her on Friday.

This is a great chance for the Lacrosse Community, and the USLIA Community to get behind one of its own. Please support a fellow laxer. She Really needs a job and your vote!

[Sonny, I know that there's a rule against advertisements. But this isn't an ad. It'a a lacrosse public interest story. Give a laxer some love!]

She's gotten my vote, based on your independent endorsement. I'm sure you'll be getting lots of votes out of Madison as well!

I'm not so sure about NCB-5's electronic voting apparatus. Please also feel free to e-mail:

chinews@nbc5.com

and voice your support for MARIBETH BOYLE to be the next traffic apprentice. A simple "I vote for Maribeth to be the Traffic Apprentice" will suffice.

As for the folks in Madison, I think they'll share everyone in Wisconsin's appreciation of the gravity of the traffic situation in Chicago, and will appreciate the importance of a well qualified traffic reporter and the opportunity to put a laxer on the job!

Not if you're using National Highway Traffic Safety Administration rules! They drive under their own set of rules in Mad-town you know, just like Boston.

Thaks for everyone's support. I believe that the winners of round 1, who will move onto round 2 and do a live audition, will be announced next Monday. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Maribeth Won! Thanks for Your Support!

Postby Kevin Boyle on Mon Nov 07, 2005 2:50 pm

MARIBETH WON!

Well, actually she was selected as a Round 2 finalist to be the Traffic Apprentice. That means that she'll get a chance to do a live Traffic Report (sometime next week I think), and could possibly be selected to be the Traffic Apprentice.

The ball is in her court now. The final decision will be base on Maribeth's performance at her audition. However, this would not have been possible if it weren't for the support that she's gotten from the lacrosse community. On behalf of my whole family, I'd like to thank everyone who visited the website and voted for Maribeth. This is a great example of a community rallying around one of their own!

I just spoke with MB moments ago. She commented that this job would keep her busy from 4 am to 10 am. She's very excited that this might give her the opportunity to be a big shot TV celeb, and to keep coaching HS girls lax in the afternoons.

Thanks again for your support!

Punch 'em in the mouth MB!

Where's the video so we can give an objective opinion? I'm not sure I trust her brother's unbiased evaluation of punishing!
