I've got devasting news from UGA as Charles Neil, a player for Emory, took a hard shot off of his helmet from point blank range today in a game against UGA. He came off the field on his own strength and then immeadiately went unconscious. The ambulance came immediately and he was taken off the field via stretcher as he remained unconscious. The trainers on the field suggested that he would probably undergo surgery upon arrival to the emergency room. This is all I know for now.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Charles and his family and I would like to ask everyone in the lacrosse community to do the same.

A few of the UGA players went by the hospital to visit Charles today. Unfortunately, according to his father, Charles has not regained consciousness and that we will not know whats going to happen to him for a few more days.
Please keep praying for Charles to recover from this freakish injury. I'll keep posting updates as soon as I get them.

Great news! Charles finally regained consciousness today and was able to answer questions. He suffered from bleeding to the brain and he had to undergo emergency brain surgery on Saturday. According to his father, they are especially happy with his recovery thus far as his speech was clear today.
After witnessing the whole thing, I honestly believe its a miracle that he is still alive and that he has not suffered more severe permanent damage that we know of at this time. Thanks to everyone for their support and I will continue to update everyone on Charles recovery.
