Experimental Rules

I wanted to ask "how's it going?" to any of you that have been experimenting with the 30 sec-substitution rule. Or any other experimental rules. We are not using it in our hs fall ball league.

I did a college game a couple weeks ago. the only new rule we used was the new faceoff mechanic, with no "set" signal. That went much better than I expected. Didn't use the 30 second count though.

We haven't used the 30 second rule in any of our games so far.

My faceoff guys like the "no set" rule in general.

Someone told me that very few teams are using the 30 second rule this fall, no one likes it and it very likely will never see the light of day.

Hooray for fall ball and experimentation! Otherwise, we might see a rule like this get enough votes to get put in for one year, only to be repealed the next year!

I had a question about the no "set" call on face-offs. I understand that the rule is there to attempt to cut down on illegal procedure calls, but how do you determine when the players are set? Do they have to go down and stay in the same position with no corrections from the officials? Does this mean if they go down for the draw out of position, it is automatically a procedure call? How is this being implemented? Just curious. I was concerned that the lack of a set call would lead to more infractions, but it sounds like it's going okay.
