White Sox 8-2 over Red Sox in the 4th now. Ouch! Those Mid-Western teams are on a roll right now.

baseball's boring. h/r, the nll (and reebok) are looking to form a new nll field league to compete directly with the mll in 2007. this was confirmed by jennings. should be interesting. in other lax news, the victoria shamrocks again won the mann. in six. but there's no real surprise there.
As LAXMAG originally reported on Tuesday night, the NLL has confirmed that they are indeed pursuing a push to take the NLL outdoor in the summer of 2007, commish Jim Jennings confirmed during a press conference in Denver on Thursday afternoon.
As also reported by LAXMAG earlier this week, Jennings confirmed that the newly formed NLL field league would compete directly with the MLL, who will be opening in new markets in Colorado and California this summer.
Jennings sounded very confident in this potential new league and although it wasn't mentioned during the press conference, this push is in direct relation to the NLL's new partnership with Reebok, who very much wants to put a stranglehold on the sport at all levels.

Jess, you and I finally agree 100%
I now even skip through (thanks to Tivo) the baseball highlights on sports center...Without baseball and comercials, I watch it in 15-20 min.
I am excited about NLL moving outdoors. Now I understand why they are putting the games on the Outdoor Life Network...
Could we possibly see a future convergence of the MLL and NLL outdoor as the NFL and AFL did back in 1966?
BTW- Sport Center had a great computerized explanation of the new NHL rules….Can’t wait for Hockey!!!

I think that's the plan, or at least to have cross-promotion between the two. It's too hard to thrive when you only have revenue and media attention four months of the year.

my major problem with baseball besides the dreadfully slow pace:
toooo many games. how impressive is it every year when the WORLD CHAMPION has 60-70 losses. Just how imporant is every yankees-redsox game when they play (no exag)20 times a year?

agreed. Now if the NFL could find a way to make the last 2 games matter for teams with playoff locks, it would save much fantasy roster anguish.
