I'm not a coach, I'm a realist. The game was not close and NDNU did pack it in. They lost by 9.

Tough to argue that- any way you look at it, packed it in, ran out of gas, just plain out played- the second half wasn't close at all. All I'm saying is that a 6-2 lead in lacrosse is by no means a large lead.

Subject to debate. If this was football, the score would be something like 42-14, and if your a team like the 49ers playing against, well playing against anyone really, you ain't coming back. Catch my drift?

Neil,

I wasn't there on Sunday so I can't say who pushed who or all that. But, as I stated in my previous post, I played against NDNU before and when the score stacked up against them, some players lost their composure. They started throwing butt end check while the ball was on the other side of the field, and one player kicked me in my midsection while I was on the ground. "chippy?" Call it what you want, but that team plays dirty.

If you want to be a top ranked team, in any league, if the tide swings the other way, you need to keep your composure. If and when you can do that, you're on the road to being a great team.

My experiences as a player and coach.

6-2 is not a decisive lead, i would say that there are more important stats that would have said where the game was headed at that point, SOG, faceoffs/gb's and TOP would be better indicators.

insert shameless plug to the glory days here:
My senior year it was UF 6 CSU 2 at the end of one. Needless to say CSU didn't pack it in. final was 18-12 in favor of the rams.

Week 2 is over fellas. UCSB dominated. NDNU still needs some work in terms of playing a complete game against a top notch opponent.
