I thought I'd give folks a little something else to talk about, kind of pick up the spirits a bit so here goes...

Now that the football season is officially in full swing how did your team do?

Highlights from this weekend's results:

USC trouncing Hawaii with a score akin to a low-scoring basketball game...
(Give Hawaii credit, the DID score on them!)

Oklahoma's surprise loss to TCU--I'm sure this one made quite a few 'Husker fan's day.

Michigan and Ohio State scoring comparably against their respective opponents. Next week will be the real kicker for OSU. Texas did almost as well as USC in the points department yesterday...


And my personal favorite: Western Michigan ACTUALLY managed to score on Virginia, giving the Wahoos a bit of a run for their money!!

Don't forget Notre Dame's pounding of Pitt.

From what I watched (about 4 series), the Notre Dame execution was fantastic. Maybe that's the intangible that Charlies Weis brings? Who knows.

Next weekend will be big with Texas playing at Ohio State. What I'd give for tickets to that one...

Oklahoma's surprise loss to TCU--I'm sure this one made quite a few 'Husker fan's day.

Though I'm a Baylor Bears backer, I'm glad the Bears did better in the second half and finally won a game on the road after 24 straight losing games on the road. Actually, that will make the Longhorns' day, too and I know the 'Horns fans will have hope this year when they play OU later.

I grew up a huge TCU fan. I still am. I was not surprised by the game. TCU beat USC a few year's ago in the Sun Bowl. When Arizona was supposed to have a great team years ago, TCU nearly beat them. The year that Neb. went to the national title, TCU held Neb. to very little offense for most of the game. TCU suffered a few injuries, but hung in there. Had the backup conitued to play that game TCU easily wins. Neb. fans cheered for TCU. Also the last team OU lost to in its home opener was TCU. Go Frogs!

We Nebraska fans might have been happy that OU lost, but our team barely made it out of their game with Maine. The score was 15-7 in the 4th quarter until Bo Ruud got an INT for a touchdown that put it away. Had it not been for that, Maine very well could have scored and tied the game. I'm very happy Nebraska won, but if the receivers don't start catching passes that hit them in the hands, it might be another long year for my Huskers.

GT over #16 Auburn. 4 INTs and a fumble from Auburn's offense in the 2nd half pretty much handed it to us on a silver platter.

Me and another old player drove over for the game... didn't get tickets but enjoyed the tailgating. Auburn losing kinda put a damper on the night over there, but we still managed to find a lot to do between bars and parties.

I think this is going to be one of those years where Nebraska fans say: "As long as we beat Oklahoma it's a winning season." At least that's how my dad and I are looking at it. Definitely a 'building year.'

Boom goes the dynamite, Iowa over Ball State 56-0. Up 49-0 at half which is when I left the game because it was 1000 degrees out and I was hungover from a rough night before.

All three QBs went 19 of 20 plus first 100 yard rusher in 2 years after having the 116th rushing offense in the country last year.

Great day to be a Hawkeye.

This was scheduled over 5 years ago back when we were 3-7.

We also have Northern Iowa on the schedule this year but that is only because Missouri bought out of our 4-year deal last Spring because they were scared and wanted to play Arkansas State so we had to scramble last minute to find a team willing to come to Iowa City.

I did NOT enjoy watching Michael Vick on the sideline every 2 seconds including the part where they showed up walking up from the field all the way up the stands and out of the stadium.

I think they showed him a bit too much (he gets plenty on Sunday and it was his brothers day) , but I did like how he walked through the Hookie fans. I thought it was a good gesture towards the fans.

Nice having college football back…Helps take us away from some painful realities! Thanks lady Lax for starting this thread!
