Alex

Alex Perry is doing a great job getting OU ready for the spring.

North Texas will most likely host a scrimmage/practice with them this fall.

OU will be at the league meeting asking to join.

A or B?

Postby JStoops on Tue Sep 06, 2005 8:49 am

Does anyone know if they'll try to jump to the A division like Ok. State did last year? I heard if they were to join the B division they would not qualify for the national tournament because they have a DI football team...is that true?

I'm pretty sure you are correct, b/c they have a Div. I football team they must compete in Div. A (in order to qualify for post-season). Last year, OSU had a rough year in the Div. A, I wonder if OU could just play in Div. B for a year until they get there feet wet (seeing as first year teams rarely make the playoffs anyways, esp. in Div. A).

OU Div. B

Postby Karl Lynch on Tue Sep 06, 2005 2:04 pm

OU requested to be in Div. B this year, which I think is a smart choice.

TCU is currently playing Div. B, but I don't expect them in Division B for too long.

A couple years down the road when both teams are ready and move to Div. A North, we will discuss UT and perhaps Baylor's move to Div. A South to realign the divisions.

A solid 14 team Div. A conference would be awesome.

So would some OCC wins.
