The 2005 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft will take place in Edmonton, Alberta on the evening of Monday, August 29th at 8PM Eastern/6PM Mountain. The Entry Draft will take place at Rexall Place, the home arena of the expansion Edmonton Rush. The league's eleven member clubs will be selecting talented young players from US collegiate and Canadian junior lacrosse programs. The Entry Draft will consist of six rounds. The first selection in the Entry Draft currently belongs to the expansion Portland LumberJax.

"I congratulate the city of Edmonton and the Edmonton Rush on hosting the 2005 Entry Draft", said Commissioner Jim Jennings. "We're looking forward to introducing professional indoor lacrosse to Edmonton as the Rush debut in 2006, and this is a great event to get things started."

The event is free and will be open to the public. The Enttry Draft begins at 6pm local time in Edmonton. Fans attending the draft can enter the arena at two locations: on the Wayne Gretzky statue side, near the Ticketmaster outlet; or via the Light Rail Transit (LRT) entrance.
