Fees
I was just wondering what it costs to join the lacrosse teams at the UMLL colleges?

You need to first consider Div A and Div B teams separate. The play is equal in both leagues. A few teams in Div B are just as good as teams in Div A. Some of the differences are that Div B games only have 2 officials, the schools in Div B are smaller, and I think there is better competition between the Div B schools. Div B schools will usually have lower dues since some of their travel costs are less, fewer officials, and maybe up to 3 fewer games. All that being said don't pick a school based on lacrosse. Just because you join a team and pay dues does not necessarily mean you will play. Every team has a few players that never see the field. Think about if you will be happy on a campus and your education. Anyways, I think I heard from St. Olaf's Student Organization Committee that dues for lacrosse were around $450 which is usually among the lowest in the league. They are also Div A. Coach Larson might be able to give you some better information on this question in a private discussion.
The GLLC with many of the Wisconsin schools is also an option. I think they play a 10 game season with a tournament. It is a pretty good league to play in if you just want to play. I think each team pays like $1000 to join the league which is far less than most other leagues. Rules are modified to keep the game moving. There are some very good teams in that league, but there are also some teams that are still learning the game. St. Mary's was in this league last year and I heard they moved back to the UMLL as a Div. B school. I hope this helps.

I can speak for Duluth and UofM and say that our dues cover everything from hotels, travel, end of year banquet and everything in between whereas other pay 250 initially but then they have to pay for everything along the way.

We also have to do fundraising along with paying for some misc. fees. Do the U of M/UMD players have to do any fundraising?

SJU is 175.00 to play then an additional 200.00 if you took the trip to texas (to cover flight). Basically the school chips in money for our budget so we are able to have cheaper dues, but if you think about it we are paying a lot more for tuition. Basically any where you go they will work with you to make it affordable.
