But I think nylon is safer then athletic tape rolled up into a string-like lace.

Coach Robinson - It was either Southwestern or you guys, I can't remember (nor does it matter) which but I think it was against you. I know Pat (our assistant) was furious about it and we heard about it on the way back up here.

You know what, you're right, it was against us. Always fun when the keeper gets a penalty. When you don't have the luxury of having a back-up keeper who doesn't have to play another position due to the size of the team, it can be interesting when the goalie draws the yellow laundry.

Unfortunately, Will is in the hospital right now. He has been very ill lately and we are all pulling for him. We've had a lot of bad luck here early in the season.

We were playing a game once, I don't remember where or who the opponent was, and we were getting killed. Our regular goalie, the one who sometimes didn't wear his chest protector, wanted to play middie for the rest of the game, so we let him. We had our 6'8" crease defender step in goal because he'd played it once or twice before. Well, he forgot to put on a throat protector, and of course, he took a shot straight to the throat. I believe the shot either dislocated or severely bruised his larynx. It wasn't a good thing.

some goalies have to wear a shin guard or something to protect a injury...

i broke my tibia my jr year in hs in the fall, and had surgury and had to have a titanium rod put in my leg from my knee to my ankle.... so that spring i wore one shin guard.... but only one.
i dont wear it anymore, i hated wearing it.
i wear throatprotector, chest pad,cup and gloves... not even goalie gloves, but never broke my thumb cause i cover m thumb w. my index finger. hope i never do.... fingers crossed.

Yea, I dont use goalie gloves either, I find them anoying. Actually my gloves that I do use doesnt have leather over the thumb on either side anymore, which makes it easier for my to run my thumb up the side of my stick. Like I have been hit there and dislocated it, but like all in all I would still rather not wear the goalie gloves
