2nd round is about right for Turiaf. He was a good college player, but he will find that the going is much rougher in the NBA. Doesn't handle the ball real well and shooting touch is suspect. He will not be able to bull guys around in the NBA as easily as he did in college.

Yea the draft was not the same without the Mavs getting anyone!! I was surprised that the center for Georgia Tech , Luke Schneisner did not get drafted.

Yeah, it was a little boring for the Mavs fans. In years past I had wondered how they were going to screw it up. Man did they have some terrible picks.

There first ever pick not wanting to play in Dallas
Jim Jackson (holdout)
Mashburn + Kidd following that (nice fight over the girl)
Leon Smith taking the gun to school after being drafted
Roy Tarpley
I am sure that we have others.
Dallas fans will probably be most familiar with the Mavericks taking Robert Tractor Taylor and thinking they had finally figured out the draft until they traded him for some guy named Dirk. I remember reading about him and watching his first game thinking that he could be good. Most Mavericks fans wanted nothing to do with him, but I think they like him now.

Speaking of Gerald Green:

Gerald Green

Look to the right side where it says Buzz Log, and you can immediately spot his name and his picture on the right. This is the first time I have checked out the Buzz Log.

Slight correction, it was Kidd and Jackson fighting over Toni Braxton.

I wouldn't say Kidd/Mashburn/Jackson (anyone remember the cheesy 3 J's or "I'm a Dallas Mavericks Fan"-dancing commercials?) were total busts, they just didn't work out for the Mavs and have for other teams.

I stand corrected. It was shocking that the 3Js never worked out.

Even though he was picked in the 2nd, CJ Miles got the guaranteed contract he wanted so he won't be attending Texas and is signing with the Jazz.

Busts? I guess you guys have the market cornered on that, with "The Death Stick" being the last top 3 pick from provo.[/quote]
