Florida State University Men's Lacrosse proudly announces the addition of Cliff Stryker Buck as a new Assistant Coach. Coach Buck will specialize in Face-offs, and midfield defense. He is only able to commit to the fall season and will evaluate the time commitment before deciding on coaching for the full year.
Coach Buck has been a strong supporter of the FSU lacrosse team since his arrival in Tallahassee. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Oceanography, studying the atmospheric input of trace elements to the surface ocean.
He graduated with Honors from Lehigh University in 2001 with a BS in Environmental Science. He comes to the team with 15 years of playing and coaching experience. He was a 4-time All-Mid Atlantic Conference player and was selected to the 1997 US Lacrosse, Potomac Chapter All Star team. In addition he was a Virginia State All-State Team member. He played at Lehigh University and was an assistant coach at Tallahassee's Maclay School High School team 2002-2003.
Coach Harkins is thrilled with Coach Buck's decision to join the staff. "I asked him to join the staff for the past two years, however, his academic commitments did not allow him the time. I have great respect for his commitment and integrity. I know he will do a great job and will be a tremendous asset both on and off the field."
"With both Coach Waesche and Coach Buck I can't imagine that our team will not be greatly improved, as our assistant coaches will be as good as anyone's in the country," Harkins said. "I can't wait for the season to start, we will be better prepared than ever before."
