AFI's 100 Famous Quotes

Eventhough The Beauty and the Geek is lame, I still had to watch this show to see what ridiculous antics Richard would be doing on this show. His partner, Mindi and the other 3 ladies had to pick clothes for the men, and Mindi's line would not even make the AFI's list for many years; however, it was the best one I saw on TV tonight where she said about Richard's clothing style, "Urkel meets Screech."

One of my favorite Jack Nicholson moments...gives me chills to this day, not to mention I love his disdain for Weinburg.
"Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Whose gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinburg? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago, and you curse the marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That Santiago's death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And that my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to."
I guess it's more than a line but it's not like anyone's too busy to read it, what with "work" and all...

If I'm not mistaken, which I very well could be, I think it was Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca.
Yeah, thats who it is. He said it like 10 times throughout the movie. I agree with the majority of them, but not in that order. They deserve to be on there, but not in the order they have them in. "Show me the money" isn't more memorable than "You can't handle the truth." That's my example.

So many good lines from this movie, but here's one sample with audio:
"I think you're some kind of deviated prevert. I think General Ripper found out about your preversions and that you were organizing some kind of mutiny of preverts. Now move.

from anchorman: the legend of ron burgandy
when describing his cologne of choice, "sex panther", field reporter brian boasts:
"60 percent of the time it works every time."
i have been using that statement to describe creighton's overused, and easily recognized, number 1 emo play.

good quote, but unfortunatly that isnt in the movie. "what is that?" "it sounds like a dying giraffe!" would qualify though. and yes, it was hard to think of a quote from the movie that would be appropriate for here.
