AFI's 100 Famous Quotes

Postby Brent Burns on Wed Jun 22, 2005 3:23 pm

Just read about this from different sources, and the #1 famous quote came from Clark Gable to Vivien Leigh in Gone with the Wind where he said, "Frankly, I don't give a d*mn."

What would be your favorite and memorable quote from the movies?

I have two quotes - "May the Force be with You" (Harrison Ford) and "E.T. call home."

So, "Here's looking at you, kid" would be from what movie and who said that?

How Bob Saget's line from Half Baked didn't make this list is baffling.......

Boooo-urns!, how could Arnie only be mentioned for his two Terminator lines, "I'll be back." and "Hasta la vista, baby."! I could name hundreds of good Arnie lines. My question is what is your All-Time Favorite Arnie line.
Here are a few of my fav's.
Of course read these lines with your best Arnie impersonation.
"It's not a tumor!"
"Come and get me! I'm the one you want!"
"What's the matter? CIA have you pushing too many pencils?"
"Get-Down!!"
Just to name a few.

"Charlie don't surf!" -Apocalypse Now

"All I need are some tasty waves and a cool buzz and I'm fine" -
Fast Times at Ridgemont High

"What is your major malfunction, numbn*ts? Didn't Mommy and Daddy show you enough attention when you were a child?" - Full Metal Jacket

No quotes from Office Space? Monty Python? What kind of list is this anyway? "Now go away before I taunt you a second time"

Please...

"I feel the need, the need for speed!"

I think I could name off hundreds from this particular movie seeing as how it's my #1, but I'll spare all of you.

"I'm your huckleberry"

"At Globo Gym, we're better than you."

So many more...so little time...for me anyway

Great line!! Great movie!!

If you're ever in Scotland visit Doune Castle. That's where they filmed that scene, along with the Castle Anthrax scenes. We even stood on the spot where Arthur received that particular taunt...

One of my favourites that didn't make the list, from Animal House... "The negroes took our dates!"

And my personal favourite Arnie line is from The Running Man. After he cuts Buzz Saw in half, some one asks "where's Buzz Saw?" Arnie replies "He had to split".

If I'm not mistaken, which I very well could be, I think it was Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca.
