...off of a topic in the General Forum....Best and Not the Best Facilities in the LSA?
Best: I hear Baylor has a new setup, and Texas State's is pretty nice when they are on their women's soccer field.
Not the Best: Baylor's old field, SMU, LSU
Thoughts, comments. Please do not attack anyone's facilities either, keep it civil. We all wish we played in glorious venues.

Chris, brother, why you always baggin on LSU? First the colors...now our fields? Haha, anyway, FYI LSU is currently having a new set of Rec Sports fields built across the street from the Golf Course and should be ready for next season. (Even though they've told us that since I was a Junior and now I'm an Alum) Hopefully we can get off this list ASAP.

Baylor does have some nice fields, although they stuck them down by the river on the soggy end for the UT game because of a women's tourney. We are very fortunate at TSU with the soccer stadium, nice seating and a very nice field. Its hard to criticize any team's field though, since we are all pretty much at the mercy of our schools.

Trinity is aight...if you are as slow (errrr, drunk as some like to say. "If you're drunk, get your a** off the field..." "Coach, I'm not drunk, I'm just slow!") as I am and you don't like to run all over a normal size field like me.
Fellas from Boston know what I am talking about...The size of that field still gives me nightmares!
TSU has the nicest fields, that I have seen, by far in the LSA.

I may have a biased opinion, but I would agree that our field is the best and our girls are the hottest.

TSU has the best fields I've seen in the LSA....even when I was a rookie and we played at the old West Campus field (now long-since bulldozed and turned into a women's soccer field) I thought it was a solid facility.
My favorite place in terms of atmosphere though was at Sam Houston...stone walls surrounding a sunken field...had a sorta Gladiator feel about it.
I played in some sloppy contests at SFA...I think every time we visited it had just rained and at least one goal was submerged in soup...and I stunk it up at trying to play defense in the slop.
Of course, no matter where I played, I was happy to be playing...even when A&M and UT took us to the woodshed.

Doc Sauce, the old SHSU field you describe is Historic Pritchett Field, home of SHSU Football until 1984! The field was built as part of Roosevelt's WPA.
The following shots are from a book written about the 125 year history of Sam Houston State. Lacrosse got some pub, here are some pics with the captions.
"Sam Houston Lacrosse went 6-3 in conference play for the season. They had a great year marked by the recruitment of an All-American goalie from Colorado State University."
"Pat Atwood, the leader in assists, takes a crank shot at the Tulane goal."
"Students having a good time at a mixer."
