My little tweet, tweet, tweet wasn't doing much good.
I'd have been better writing down the few that DIDN'T jump in! Hopefully things have improved over the years.
Good luck to all the playoff teams!

Ha, is this the Hastings game you are talking about?

Quite honestly I don't remember, but it could have been. when did Hastings form a team?

Well, the fight happened in 2000.

Wow. You guys do all your quarterfinals at one high-school? Don't the higher seeded teams want to host to retain home field advantage? How do the semi's and finals work?

Semis and finals are at neutral sites as well.

Semis will be at Griffin Stadium - new home of the Minnesota Thunder - at St Paul Central HS.

Finals will be at the Academy of the Holy Angels as the finale to the daylong Laxtravaganza.

All these fields are newer artificial surfaces which lessens the threat of cancellation due to concers about field conditions. In addition, since many of the teams are club, they don't always get access to a field of good enough quality to host an important game.

The "seeding" doesn't really mean anything at all. According to LaxPower, 3 played 4 in the round of 16.

There are 8 conferences. I believe only conference games count for anything with respect to playoffs. The 1 seed in each conference gets a bye and plays the winner of a 2-3 game between 2 teams from other conferences. Some of these 2-3, 1-2, and 1-3 games are matchups worthy of the quarter- or semi-finals.

The bracket was pre-established, saying things like "Conference A second place plays conference B third place, with the winner facing conference C first place."

I just don't get it. It seems to me that you should try to use whatever data you have.

Of course, it's better than what they do for HS sports in some states: all teams make the playoffs, and the bracket is filled with a blind draw, using no information about won-lost records or anything else!

yeah both games will be incredible, all four teams have a different style of play, and they can all play with the best of them.

I agree. I can see some semblance in their offense as well.

I'll be there too.

I don't know enough to give any educated predictions, only that AV will win.
