Here's where they are playing; a man-made sports island which Osaka is slating for the 2008 Olympic Games:

We meet up in San Francisco on Saturday, and then leave for Japan Sunday.

I'll post a full roster and updates when I can.

Stupid question - why is there a USA West team and a USA California team, seems redundant to me

either way good luck to both

There are too many good players in California, so 2 teams were necessary. . . . . unlike Colorado, Alex.

I know, the problem is that all our players are busy with their DI comittments! Okay, I'll stop now. It won't be long before we are just plain outnumbered by the Calfornia players. Point is that there is a lot of pride no matter where you come from (especially California, it seems) and they stick together. We're getting a couple out here for Vail this year and it should be a good time if they can make it.

The better question is, why not have two teams? I went to Australia last year on the USA West trip and it was a great experience. If more people like Steve Dini are willing to organize teams and tournaments to play in, then why not?

Will, we could start up the "Washed Up USL MDIA All-Stars". Get Alex in net, Danny at attack, I am sure we can get the whole A&M clan who post on here.

Have the Colorado guys stopped coming to the Tahoe tourney? I know they had a team the last couple of years (Rocky Mtn Oysters).

Organize an East team (aka the Michigan Wolverine All Star Team) for next year. Who is with me?

I'm pretty sure the Oysters are still going to Tahoe. There are only a handful of MDIA guys on that team however. I went to Miami with that team this past January. Vail will be a great place to watch MDIA talent next month with a bunch of current/former players on various teams.

Here's a bit of an update on the USA West trip taken from a group email sent out to me by one of my teammates and friend on the team. I'll post more info as I hear from him.

''we are currently waiting for one of our coaches and two players to
arrive on another plane because they had to take a different flight
and then we are traveling by bus to Nagoya to stay for a few nights
and have our mini-camp. the team is composed of 25 players from
different schools such as Michigan, BYU, Army, Arizona, Claremont,
Cal, and obviously USC although im the only player from USC. everyone
is very friendly and outgoing, we were laughing at
the concept that on any other day, we would all be enemies but because
we`re all here on the same team, we`re all friends. lacrosse is a
funny sport that way.

im very excited to start playing lacrosse tomorrow and see how everyone stacks up. we will have a few scrimmages against Japanese club teams in the coming days and then we will compete in the International Friendship Games in Nagoya where we will play against the Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and Australian national teams as well as a team called Team USA
(California).''

That's it for now, I'm off to watch the sunset here in Santorini Greece :D
