Big turnout
The attendance at yesterday's final was 44,920, edging last year's 43,898 in Baltimore for the largest ever to see a men's lacrosse championship game. The three-day event drew 111,247 fans. The parking lots around Lincoln Financial Field were filled with the usual New York, Maryland and New Jersey license plates, but there also were a few Floridas, Ohios and even a Minnesota sprinkled in.
So, who drove?
I flew, as did a crew from St. Thomas. I was told that a group of UofM players were there, and I saw some Iowa State alums.

It was gratifying to see the record go down, what with a lot of Maryland lacrosse fans saying the event should be in Baltimore permanently and that Philly wouldn't support it.
I did not drive, but I was there. It was a blast. The stadium was first-rate. I passed on the $15 crab cake sandwiches, though.
