you can go to www.majorleaguelacrosse.com to get many of the details. . .but I think the final score last night was 21-12. . .or something like that. There were several excellent goals. . .but the game was never really very close. Neither goalie had a great game, so the offenses pretty much dictated everything.
I hope the game is on television like it was last year. . .my favorite play of the game was a behind the back pass from Mikey Powell to Marechek - Marechek faked hard twice, and the goalie was laying on his back after biting on both fakes before the goal was scored.
Rumor has it that Seattle is in the running for an expansion team in 2006. LA, Colorado and Texas are getting teams, and Seattle and Chicago are the top candidates for the fourth team. . .let's all hope Paul Allen decides to jump on board and bring a team to Seattle. . .

Dave,
I just checked the website and it doesn't look like the Seattle game will be televised on ESPN2. I know the game was videotaped, but I imagine it will take a lot of work to get your hands on the tape. Sorry for the bad news.
For the season's TV schedule, here is the link. . .

... marecheck's goal was nice, but i was hoping he would have pulled his famous "tommy twist/ reverse backhand... i was told tho, i also missed the goal of the game, at the start of the second-half, when gait scored between his legs... you had to like baltimore's attack tho: gait, marecheck and powell!
anyways, jason, where did you hear about those new mll franchises? is that an inside scoop? i knew la was getting a team for 06, and that there were likely more to come, but i didn't know colorado and texas were already awarded teams...

They announced him as Mickey Powell, just like the mouse, and one of the refs had his shorts so far up his you know what, I didn't even know what to say.
I really did think Gaits goal was the best goal of the night. Picking up a lose ball one handed on the crease, putting it top shelf, 1 handed, through his legs as the goalie tries to smother it... Incredible. I had to go, but the rest of the guys in my group (10) went to a local bar, and the Baltimore team came over to have some beers. They said everyone was more humble and warm than you could believe...

Kyle, if it's not public knowledge, then yes, it's inside scoop. I spoke with the GM of the Baltimore team. . .he said that Paul Allen was contemplating whether or not he wanted to spend the $1 million price tag for the franchise. . .plus the 200K annually the team will likely lose. . .at least that is how the Baltimore franchise is operating right now. It's similar to minor league baseball right now. . .it's very difficult to operate one of these teams in the black.
That will likely change one day, but right now anyone who gets involved knows he'll be taking annual losses for a while. . .my guess is that Paul Allen isn't too worried about $200K. . .
P.S. Kyle I was with your buddies at FX Mc's after the game. Very down to earth group of guys. . .
