Will they have any trouble winning the league this year?

We return an All-American at every position after a year which we broke into the national scene (m-Danny Ernst, g-Nate Cordova, d-Jeremy Tesar, a/m-Matt Connors, and m-Julian Coffman). That with the uprising of young players, this Oregon team is gonna be hard to beat.

It always blows my mind when people talk THEMSELVES up on the board. You can talk about your teammates all you want, but when your avatar is TESanything, mentioning your own name in the post is a little self-serving, if not thinly veiled. Either way, I like Oregon to continue to improve, but they will not be sneaking up on anyone. Cordova is a solid goalie and they have good middies, though perhaps not the depth to match up with the top 5.

Fair enough, just busting chops. The funny thing about this board is that most of the people on here are players, so you rarely get an unbiased view of a team.

this year will be interesting in the A division. oregon shined through last year with impressive wins over ranked teams and beat SFU in canada for i believe the 1st loss ever in canada. with that said SFU will be ready. after this weekend i have seen some good coaching and ball control. oregons offense is quick and likes to attack a lot. however this year SFU has shown an aggressive defense and very very patient offense. should give an impatient oregon offense some problems if SFU does that to oregon. can't wait for the match-up.

Doesn't Oregon still run a possession offense?

Rumor has it, Cordova had surgery? Any validity to that? Will he be ready for the season? Looking forward to 3/5.

yes reed they do...however they like to score a lot with there possesion offense. if i remember they didn't have to many games where they didn't score at least 15 goals. they run a fluent offense that possesses the ball often and usually score pretty quickly.

Oregon Lacrosse

Postby Dr. Jason Stockton on Sun Feb 20, 2005 2:09 pm

Having been involved with the PNCLL for the past 6 years, I can very comfortably say this is the best Oregon Lacrosse squad they've ever had. They are deep at every position, and they can beat you in many ways. . . I look forward to seeing how the Oregon team stacks up against the best in the country in Michigan. . .

Good luck Ducks. You really handed it to us last night.

I don't want us to come off cocky at all, but the trend looks like we have a good shot at winning league. I am not saying we are a shoe in, but from the scores in the past few days, I think we could do well.

UO vs. PLU - 23-3
PLU vs. OSU - 12-18
OSU vs. SFU - 7-8

Though I agree that Oregon has a good squad this year and that they have a good shot at winning league, I think the scores of those games don't reflect how the Ducks will match up head to head with OSU and Fraiser. There are big matchup differences and you can never tell if a team was having an off day or a hot day.
