Wake Forest has a great stadium/turf set up complete with ball walls behind to stop errandt shots.

UF has one of the nicest grass fields i've seen anywhere, there are only a few bleachers for spectators though. Also one of the few places i played that had a working scoreboard

The citadel has a natural grass field with a black hawk helicopter behind one goal and a tank behind the other. The field is boxed in on all 4 sides by the dorms which look like castle walls, a pretty cool experience.

As far as Grass fields go, Danny's own UCF Championship field is one of the best Iv'e seen It held up in soggy weather very well, and was a good texture for running and ground balls.

Agree on the Citadel. Haven't been over to Charleston in a few seasons, but the Parade Field in the heart of campus is very cool. (Very nice grass to boot as well.) We had the SELC tournament there back in 1996.

If you're just talking about the fields themselves, it's hard to beat some of the Florida fields we've seen. LMU has a very nice surface. I've heard great things about one of the San Diego schools (although I'm forgetting which right now). The hard thing at our level is finding the facility that puts it all together - great field, great facilities for fans, locker rooms, scoreboard/sound system, etc. Club teams usually don't get that kind of treatment. BYU probably does the best job of that. Maybe Lindenwood? We have a pretty good setup, although it will get a lot better as they complete some of the construction projects they have planned for our athletic facilities in the next few years. We'll get a bigger fieldhouse with much more (and better) seating (2,000 - 3,000 possible), attached locker rooms (instead of the ones across the parking lot in the Ice Arena we have for visiting teams now), permanent scoreboard (we have an electric one now, but it's not that special), attached restrooms, lobby and space for concessions, better spots to film from, etc. Can't wait. 3-4 years until completion, they're telling us. Long range plans have them building a 4,000 - 6,000 seat outdoor field for soccer, track and lacrosse - maybe more like 7-8 years for that one.

For the whole package, I have to go with BYU. The stadium and the view are awesome. It is a great place to play at and usually has quite a few fans.

I especially like the way they schedule their spring games against tough opponents in the late afternoon and then arrange it so that the opponent's defense & goalie are looking directly into a bright setting sun. Talk about a home field advantage.

Usually, the coin flip helps in that department. One team faces it for 2 quarters a game & 1 quarter per half. Not sure how that can be considered an advantage for BYU.

The setting sun is not an issue until later in the game, usually the 4th quarter. You can ask other teams that play there, and it may only be coincidental (wink, wink), but the visiting team usually ends up in the sun field in the 4th quarter. Funny how things work out some times. . . .

Lindenwood's stadium is nice and once it is totally renovated, it will be even better. Even last year with the bleachers not totally finished, great little stadium with nice turf and locker rooms. Even a nice little sound system for announcer and pre-game music.

Up here in the Northeast, I am a fan of both my school's and Boston University's fields. We are both field turf, have permanent stands as well as use of the scoreboards. BU's stadium is where the Boston Cannons of the MLL now play home games, so it should be even better this season.

LMU's grass was very nice, I was surprised how they could keed it up given that it's on top of a parking garage.

i would have to agree with the Citadel comments...we went out there for our spring break games last year and it was one of hte coolest experiences we've had. level field, natural grass, the surroundings...cant beat it....plus we got a sweet team pic in front of the helicopter

Another cool place is Kansas State. They play in their, I want to say old like 1920s, football stadium which has been renovated with new turf and some new office at the end of it. Nice little stadium for them, here is a pic with some of it:

Nothing looks more inviting then those windows behind the cage. I know a couple guys who could "miss" the goal and end up costing KSU lax some cash.
