Mountaineerlax,
About the article that you wrote about the Boise-Mines game...I think you wrote a completely 1 sided article, and I'd like to clue everyone into a few more points about the game.
We all know about AJ Tupper (the first year freshman that was knocked by the goalie) from your article. What you failed to mention is that this same player really showed the Mines Lacrosse heart. Even with his burgeoning skill and after being humiliated by the goalie, AJ ran the ball up the field while being attack by 4 or more skilled Boise players and cleared the ball. He ran through them while be checked and battered, but that did not stop him. He did this at least numerous times in the game and each time he completely destroyed Boises ride with pure heart, never giving up.
Also, the faceoffs were another example of Mines never giving up. It was a good battle between the two teams, but Mines played them hard. You forgot to mention that twice in the game the faceoff was won by Mines actually shooting the ball airborn directly to the wingman, where he caught it. I ask you how many times have you seen this done on a faceoff? And it was done twice in the second half of this so called heartless game. I am the faceoff man for Mines, and in no way do I consciously set out to do this before I face off. It is pure heart that gets that ball flying directly to my wingman. I don't have the stat for faceoffs, but I believe Mines was victorious by a good margin in this area.
I also want to point out that even after Boise ran up the score in the first half (scoring 15), Mines held them to only 7 in the second half.
So there it is. I don't disagree with the article's facts, I just wanted to point out that Mines does have heart and this game had its ups and downs. Thanks for taking your time to write for these important games.

Is there no end to the self-promotion??? Mines, and I am talking to the whole team here, if you lose a game 21-5, perhaps it is not the best time to boast emptily on messageboards about how the game did not reflect what was written in an article. PLEASE ALL OF YOU STOP IT!!

Word on the street is that CU led most of the game before BYU was able to tie with about 7:00 minutes left. BYU then took the lead with less than 2:00 to win it. CU could be a very dangerous team in the tournament if they continue to play with this type of intensity. I am excited to attend the BYU/CSU game tomorrow if the weather allows.

CU always scares me, Alex. Looks like BYU was deadly on man-up. CU's goalie must have had a good game with 17 saves.

I think all that Alfac is looking for is accuracy in reporting. I mean, have you read that article? There are made up quotes, and, more or less, openly mocks the Mines team. I have seen more accurate reporting from CBS News.

He played the first half and most the 4th quarter after Makechnie sucked it up in the 3rd. If BYU wants a chance against CSU, they need to leave Chucky in for the WHOLE game.
