This is just my opinion but i think that St. Olaf should drop down in the B. In no way is it a knock on the Olies but the b div is intended for MIAC like teams and now with the National Championship who wouldnt want to be in it?.

Not to knock Marquette, but I would say since they're last in the A division that they drop down to B and St. John's bumps up to A. Isn't that the way this league ran things two years ago? I'm not certain

I think SJU will stay in the B Division because of our size. I do agree that Marquette, St. Olaf and Moorhead should look at possible moves down to B Division. They will be more competitive there and help to keep the UMLL at the front of the conference race.

Marquette has 11,000 students- id consider that too big for B
Moorhead- 7,661 kids - I'd would say yes, maybe
St. Olaf- 3,000 children - THAT IS MORE LIKE IT

Every program will become more balanced with the development of youth and high schools teams in the coming years. The talent pool will even out as long as Graff dosnet steal all of them..... The way I think of the B div and which schools "should" be in it, is if the program went NCAA would be considered a D3 school or a potentially a smaller D2 school.

I don't think that has EVER been said by anyone at SJU.

I remeber one post from a UMLL outsider that asked "why isnt SJU playing UMD? Dont they want to see who is the best in MN?" Come on Schwab lets get those facts straight......

And i would consider it competition when UST takes us into overtime...

What are the school size requirments for Divison A and B?

There has to be an official requirment stated in MDIA by-laws and what not.

Also, isn't the Division B champion presented the option to "make the jump" to Divison A?

The UMLL set a school attendance requirement and the USL-MDIA set a requirement that if Division 1 Football is present at your school, then you must be in the A Division.

I believe the UMLL rule is that if your attendance is over 9,000, then A Division is for you. Not sure about that number though.

Aaaaarrrgghhh!! Another one goal loss for the DuLax men! They've got to just be dying - moral victories for games well played don't make the hurt go away any easier.
Just went to the UMD website - another road trip to Carolina to play NC State and Wake Forest - sounds like a nice trip. I'm surprised that they don't play St. John's, who may be their best in-state competition. (No offense Chris!).

When laxfan lived in MN, St. John's was not a lacrosse power yet, and he was surprised to see the Johnnies doing so well this year...
Great year for the UMLL, except for the incident at the UM/UMD game.

I do not think that a hard played one-goal game between two bitter in conference rivals constitutes an INCIDENT!

I have never heard of CSU / BYU game described as an incident. If anything it is about time the UMLL saw two top 25 teams battle it out.

You say incident - I say growth of lacrosse in the UMLL - and I would look forward to future seasons in this league
