Playoffs this weekend at Baylor...

Postby devildog0351 on Sat Apr 23, 2005 6:42 pm

First of all I wanna say congrats to UTA and Tech. I look forward to seeing you all play this weekend in Waco. Sorry this is coming so late. Here is the information I have right now about the playoffs. First of all is the location. The games will be held at the Parker Brother Intramural fields on the Baylor campus. They are right acrosse the street from the Ferrel Center, you can't miss it, it looks like a big golden tit. The link here has maps from our website.
http://www3.baylor.edu/lacrosse/maps.html

We will have two fields set up, one for Div. A and one for Div. B. We will be running games simultaneously. I am waiting to hear back from Karl to make sure the times are correct. I will post as soon as I hear back. We will have concessions there and Shamrock Lacrosse is supposed to have a booth set up at the fields. We are also in the process of having shirts printed up to sell at the games also. More information will follow on Monday when I hear back from the shirt place. If anybody has any questions please feel free to e-mail me. Matt_Cross@baylor.edu

Agreed, four teams each with enough talent to take home the hardware and earn a trip to Blaine, Minn. 8)

Tech

I was very impressed with the way Tech played this past weekend. Their defense in the second half was great, I don't think anyone has held unt to one goal in a half this year. It will be interesting to see how TSU comes out against UT having the forfeit win from this past weekend, I think that first game would have been good in keeping the team on point and crisp. I think Tech also benifits from the first round game because they've gained some momentum after losing their season finale to UT. Good luck to all the teams this weekend in Waco.

Here is a copy of the schedule, you can also find it on the LSA website.

Saturday 4-30-05
Div. B Field 2
11am UT-Arlington #2 North Trinity #1 South
2pm St. Edwards # 2 South Southwestern #1 North

Div. A Field 1
Noon Texas State #2 South UT-Austin #1 North
3pm Texas Tech #2 North Texas A&M #1 South

Sunday 5-1-05
2pm LSA Division B Championship Game
3pm LSA Division A Championship Game

Also, I talked to our director of club sports, there shouldn't be a problem with parking, we will have the field behind our shed open for parking also, that way nobody has to walk across Lasalle from the Ferrel Center parking lot. It is a field though, so park there at your own risk, there might be stuff in the field such as screws or something, I honestly do not know, so use caution if you choose to park there. The t-shirt sales are still up in the air, im waiting to see if they can finish them all in time. The next thing is very important though!
Baylor is a dry campus! Anybody caught with alcohol at the fields will be asked to leave immediately, that or they will be escorted away by the Baylor Police Dept. They told me to make that very clear, so please do not bring it, wait till after the tournament, or go to a bar afterwards. Save us the hassle. Also, no pets are allowed at the intramural fields, so like alcohol, don't bring them. It is that simple.

There will be a concession stand at the fields, our guys are grilling hot dogs and hamburgers. There will be soft drinks and water avaliable also. There will be a parking fee of $5, but no entrance fee. That came down from Baylor, so sorry about that. Only the refs, Karl and Brent get in free. Shamrock Lacrosse will have a booth set up also if anybody wants to buy lacrosse stuff.

That is all I have for now, I will post something if there are any changes. Congrats to Tech, Tx State, and UTA for their wins this past weekend, and good luck to all the teams this weekend, I look forward to seeing some sick games here in Waco.

Confusion...

Postby devildog0351 on Mon Apr 25, 2005 4:38 pm

Everybody, Sorry for the confusion about the parking. I am e-mailing all the team presidents and coaches requesting the following information. How many vehicles you will be bringing, players, and coaches. This way I can send you all a document that is a waiver for parking fees. I will have a list at the front gate so you can show your permit to and they will check it off. This way we do not have everybody and their brother claiming to be a coach. I will have these all coded also to check off the list that way people don't scam us. Karl, and Brent, yours is in your e-mail. If this still doesnt make sense, e-mail me at Matt_Cross@baylor.edu and I will clarify it. Thanks again!

Any reason why the B div game and A Div game are going to overlap on Sunday? People wont be able to watch both. Just curious.

The game times came down from above to me. The fields will be parallel to eachother so seeing both wont be a problem. Basically that is what times I was told they were to be at. Don't worry, it will be easy to see both games.

aTm, UTA both have their parking waivers, Southwestern, yours is on its way as soon as I get out of class. Everybody else needs to e-mail me to make sure I can get these to youu team so you dont end up paying for parking. I sent out an e-mail to all coaches and presidents of the teams playing this weekend. It is in your hands now, if I dont hear from your team with the numbers and information I asked for in the e-mail then you will be out of luck at the gate as far as the parking waivers go. Sorry I dont mean to sound like I am whining, but I have done as much as I can to help the teams out in this situation. Thanks a lot gents!

parking waivers...

Postby devildog0351 on Thu Apr 28, 2005 10:36 am

UT and St. Eds need to contact me ASAP if you want your parking waivers. If you do not contact me your team will be stuck paying for parking. All other teams have received their waivers and are good to go. Thanks for your quick responses. It is upon you to e-mail me with the information so I can get these to you. Like I said I have done all I can to help you, I have e-mailed your coaches and presidents, and posted on here. It is in your hands now as to if you will be paying for parking or not! Thanks a lot!
