I'm assuming that Tubbs and KT of GB Lax will be doing another year of summer league. Try calling their Houston location.

GB lax is doing their league again and Texlax is doing one on that side of town as well. Nothing for the Northside and both leagues won't have lights. Anyone hear of something on the northside or something with lights, aka-a later start? H-town traffic bites.

Last year was terrible. I hope something is done to improve the summer league this year.

not sure about texlax's -I've heard u of h and Strake. Haven't heard anything definite. Still pretty far for me. As for last year being disorganized-that's is the nature of summer league in Houston-no fault of the people who run it, but by the second week most kids (most of the players are h.s, players) would rather watch reruns of the OC. I remember being at the fields on a semi reainy day and it was Tubbs me and Mikey there. Kind of screws up your team setups. You see the same hard core people there every year-the same old men, USLIAers and Houston are high school products that are there because they love the game, and that equals enough for a pick up game of two teams. I really can't think of a way to fix the problem unless you import half of Baltimore to Houston for the summer. That's the reason why Dallas is pulling away from the pack-and will get a MLL team, they're starting to get crazy over lacrosse.

I wouldn't bet on this year being too much more organized. I have heard that there will be a good summer league starting up in Austin this summer. I think it is gonna be run by SouthSwell Lax or Adrenaline. Regsrdless, I have played in both places and the Austin summer league is always more competetive, and it is on Saturday's so all the Houston crew can make the "short" journey to Travis County

summer league
Tubbs told me April 25, 2005 that he will tell me when it will start and when to start coming in to pay for it.
Summer league this year will be more organized than last year, Im for sure on that one.
But it makes players too, to make it organized by showing up if you have a game that day

Tommy,
You little inquisitive guy you! Don't you understand that the whole idea of having a message board name is to keep your persona secret. That's why I post as the UH Cougar Head Coach. That way, no one knows who I am. I even put a signature at the bottom of my posts to keep it more secret. You need to do the same! T. Laing is too easy. Try just Laing or LSU Tiger Tommy or something like that. Keep em guessing! In closing quoting the great Satchel Paige: "Don't look back, someone might be gaining on you!"

Who am I? Reminds of the Breakfast Club.. Who am I? I'm a walrus! Mikey-I was one of your teammate w/ CTL. Now with all of that being said...you should be able to figure it out. This is kind of like stumping the Schawb. You get one less point for every clue. And yes-Mikey I agree, sometime you can fault the organizers, but the past couple of years with various summer leagues in Houston-it's been the players. Those kids should buy TiVos. Here's a theory-Dallas is more lax crazy because they are further away from open water. Seems like everyone in Houston slacks off during the summer so they can go to beach.
