Chris Files for MVP or Chris Files for All-American?

Hey guys its me again...I think we can all agree Chris Files is the league MVP, but do you think that Chris Files should be an All-American? I know I do.

Why stop at All American? The kid deserves more. Truth be told I'm shocked that the Vatican passed him up for this Benedict character, it must've been because he plays at UNT and we all know they don't get the respect they deserve, waaaahaaaaa!

I believe Mr. Ryan Mattheisen made short work of him in both games. Congruently, I guess we could then say that Matthiesen should be up for the MVP spot. Files is a good player, but MVP? NO,

Chris led the nation (the entire MDIA) in goals scored at 62.

He is third in scoring nationally in points per game average.

He did all of this on a team with 7 rookie starters, 5 were true freshman, and one of the guys on the starting attack touched a stick for the first time in September 04.

No other player in the LSA even came close to his numbers and every other player considered had a more developed supporting cast.

I think Chris deserves it.

Not a single ranked Div A. team on there. While the defenses in our league are hardly terrible, I wouldn't say that he's been really "tested".

You can't argue with his numbers, though you can bring into question the teams he puts them up against. That being said, the more people that come on this board to pump him up, the more some people seem to get a little tired of hearing his name. I don't think anyone who has a vote for MVP gets their info from this forum, and if they do then what is their opinion worth in the first place?

nothing personal, but i dont think chris files should be the mvp mostly because i have played with and against players who can better put their team in a position to win the game.

i also dont believe that the argument of most points= MVP holds up. Consider Allen Iverson who consistently is among the top if not the top point scorer in the NBA but was only the MVP once, when he took his team to the NBA finals. The problem is Iverson is also consistently leading the NBA in turnovers.

I would venture to say when we played UNT he took more shots than the rest of his team combined, and saves create fast breaks.

maybe if everyone associated with unt didnt cram this stuff down our throats constantly, people would be a little more receptive to the concept of files as mvp... i know i posted on here a while back that i thought he deserved it, but the whole team's reluctance to take the high road on this issue is just a shame. i have never seen a group of people campaign so hard for something so trivial in my life.

and yes, chris files takes more shots than anyone i have ever seen in the lsa (at least the games that i have seen/played in) i bet there are numbers to back that up.

Files deserves LSA consideration, not the MVP, and there is no way that he gets AA unless he goes the academic route.

im pretty sure if i saw unt play without ever seeing them play before, i wouldnt be able to pick this guy out as being an mvp type player. sure give him so lsa recognition, but what does that mean, the lsa has done nothing this year. i personally have guarded this kid and he ranks nowhere close to some other guys i have had the pleasure of guarding in the past (s. harper, binge, or mark davis). how about we stop talking about mvps or aa and lets keep discussing the great matchups in the lsa this upcoming weekend
