Incredible games today (and the entire weekend).
Sunday's final scores:
Div A Consolation (3rd Place) Game: Georgia 8, Georgia Tech 7
Div B Championship: Davidson College 12, Appalachian State 11 (2 OT)
Div A Championship: Virginia Tech 11, Florida State 10
Va Tech scores five unanswered goals in the final quarter to beat FSU to clinch first ever SELC Div. A title. Davidson College recovered from a 3-goal deficit at the start of the fourth quarter to force OT and win in the 2nd overtime over No. 5 App State.
At the risk of dating myself yet again, I've been to 15 consecutive SELC tournaments (all the way back to 1990). This was the best event including the most competitive games each day, by far!
Hope to post game stories and stats (& Dave Adams' fine pictures) very soon.

im not sure how they pick the atlarge bids, but if i had to guess..... they will make it cause they were ranked pretty high in the National polls, and im not sure if this makes a difference, but they beat VT earlier in the year. but who knows what will unfold
it was great weekend of lacrosse and the tourny was well run. Northview had exceptional hospitality from locker rooms, to trainers and staff and everyone who worked the tourny.

As an aside, when did V-Tech's join the SELC? I know they made it to St. Louis in 1997, but I don't remember how (ie league champs, etc.). Didn't they miss a trip to St. Louis one year due to their status as an independent?

i believe they joined in 2000. I think this was their 5th appearance in the SELC championship game. I dont' know if/when they missed nationals. Their final 4 appearance in 97 was as an independent.
Correct me if i'm wrong, here is my count:
2000 VT vs UT
2001 VT vs AU
2002 VT vs AU
2003 VT vs UF
2004 GT vs UF
2005 VT vs FSU
