i used to use an STX X2 which is great because it is so stiff and is a wider head, perfect for stick checks and for knocking down passes.

I have switched over to an STX Bionic though because it has a really wide scooping area and is pinched like crazy, so it helps on ground balls and also for when i am carrying the ball up across half (I am an offensively minded D-pole) my strings are hard mesh with a homemade tracker pocket in it. works well for me.

When I still played long pole I used a STX Scandium shaft...which was kinda heavy

But by far the best D head I have ever used was the Debeer Wizard...its so stiff, doesnt break and Attackman know it when you check them with it...also I used soft mesh because it was easier to catch with.

I mainly used(when i was on D) the STX Bionic, its alil bit of a pinched head. But it has great scooping ability and is also thick in the corners for hard poke checks. I also agree on the X2 front.

Standard hard mesh though. D-men don't mess with the strnging to much, plus we get down n dirty when we play.

I have an X2 on a brine F22 d-stick
i have traditional stringing, i finally have the leathers broken in where i like it, i think if and when the stringing breaks i will go with mesh. it is easier to break in and i dont have to worry about it getting wet.

my backup is a bionic also with traditional, but since i hardly ever use it, it is not broken in at all.

one of my teammates uses a wizard, i think it may be the ugliest head i have ever seen, but he seems to like it

I use a Wizard on a wood shaft. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Raders,

you've seen my X2 Splatter and you say the Wizard is the ugliest head you've ever seen? That's an insult!

Raders doesn't like the Wizard, but I keep telling him how great it is for D. I have never had such a great head. I usually use trad, I think that is the best, but it is hard to maintain and to string so just a couple of weeks ago i switched to hard mesh. Hard mesh is ok, I can do everything as well as before, but my passing is not as consistent as it once was. I feel the pocket moves too much, but that could be b/c I am still breaking it in.

This year I got an E3 with a rockit-pocket. I have been using the f22 power grip for a few years now and I don't think I can go back. I like the E3 too, it's stiff enough to hold up, and the rip has worked well for mr so far.

I used edges when I played D in HS. I broke a regular edge in some kids chest, and moved onto the edge plus. That thing is beefy.

Still love my X2 and F-55 shaft. But I am looking to get a new stick and I don't think the F-55 is even available anymore. Wanted to try a newer head as well, but damn, they really make some ugly, stupid gear these days. It makes me long for the old SAM or laser highwall days.

God I'm old.
