I know they improved dramatically in my four years. I just remember playing them in San Marcos my freshmen year when a fight broke out amongst their own team on their sidelines and at least one guy walked away in the middle of the game. Glad to see that in such a short period a team can make themselves serious contenders.

Texas State is really blessed to have John Campbell at the helm when the players in their wisdom made the choice to ask him to coach them last year and this year. In fact, I am glad the Bobcats decided to stay put in LSA Division A last year when they were struggling in 2003. On the other hand, I know UNT were that close of making the playoffs the past two years, but they finally cleared that hurdle. I know those guys at UNT are proud of what they have accomplished.

Yet, I agree with others that any of the 4 teams can squeak into the LSA Final Four.

I don't know what will happen in the playoffs because it seems everyone has been up and down throughout the season. I have seen every team play this year and overall A&M is the most talented team in the LSA.

However, talent doesn't equal wins, it is the team that plays together the best that wins as we have seen over the last couple of weeks (congrats to TxSt & N. Texas).

So, I think A&M SHOULD win it, but if they don't figure out a way to put it all together and play as though they should win, then you will see Tech or Texas come away with the championship.

In the playoffs, I think TxSt & N. Texas are still a year or so away from making a run. Sorry, playoff experience makes the difference in this one.

Hildebrandt Middle School is located in Spring, Texas which is twenty minutes north of Houston off of I-45. The field is about fifteen minutes off of the highway. You can mapquest the location for exact directions.

Is it in the Klein ISD or Spring ISD?

I went to the Texas Education Directory at http://askted.tea.state.tx.us and clicked on "District Locator" On the left side, you type in Klein under "District". Scroll down on the left side and you will find it in a blue box saying Hildebrandt Intermediate School. Yes, it is Hildebrandt Intermediate School with the correct address given by Karl and CP18. It does give good maps, but for some reason today, its server is not responding.

You can use Mapquest or Yahoo map or whatever will help you.

Hildebrandt Jr. High/Klein Oak H.S. is the same location of the Texas A&M vs. Oakland game that got moved from Clear Lake Park earlier this season.

Klein Oak H.S. is in Klein ISD, but Spring, TX. (I'm alum, class of 01)

From I-45, exit 2920. Travel west on 2920 to Kuykendahl (big intersection). Turn right on Kuykendahl until you hit Hildebrandt Rd. which will be at a light. Turn right on Hildebrandt Rd. and the field (schools) will be down on the right, before you hit the train tracks.

Playoff

Postby aggielax11 on Thu Apr 21, 2005 2:47 pm

One question, if Tx State was to win, do they have a trip to Minnesota in their budget? What would happen if a team other than Texas and A&M wins and just can't afford to go, what happens to the spot?

Overall though I would love to see another Texas A&M and Texas match up in the finals. I was at the game last weekend, and although A&M lost it was a great game like they always are. I think in the finals we see both of these teams again, but A&M finishes their shots and clean up their mistakes. They missed cage quite a bit in the regular season game along with dropped balls and poor passing. So i say they clean up the mistakes and the Aggies bring the trophy back to College Station.

AQ to Blaine

Postby Karl Lynch on Thu Apr 21, 2005 3:55 pm

Internally, the issue has been discussed. All of the teams in the Div. A playoffs have the financial ability to make it to Blaine.

I have talked with our sports club director and he said that there is a possibility the school can allocate some funds for a trip to MN. Im sure we would still have to pay for a lot of it out of pocket, but I think we would be willing to do that.

Thanks a lot for posting the directions to the field.

I'm too lazy to look it up right now. but I believe the ploicy is that the conference forfeits thier AQ for that year AND the following year.

I'd have to check some notes to be certain so don't set it in stone.

I am assuming that Chad Sones will post the result of the Texas Tech-UNT game tomorrow.

Tonight: St. Edwards travels to Trinity.

Tomorrow: UTA will be in Nacgdoches to take on Stephen F. Austin

Texas Tech and UNT will be in Plano vying for a spot in the
LSA Division A semifinals.
