All-Conference Teams
So, I was thinking about the All-Conference team and how it is an awesome accolade to achieve, but it would be so much better if we could do something with it. Perhaps lining up a show down between two or more All-Conference teams during the summer? I can't think of anything that could be more fun. Well, except if I were able to participate and WITH my cool socks.

I think it would be cool (this was discussed in another forum) to give out invitations to the all conference team either a or b or both and form a team to play in vail

maybe the conference should talk about doing something like this in the future. A game like this would be a lot of fun for both the players and fans to watch...and it would give any area high school kids a chance to see some of what they would be up against in the years to come, as well as get some of the smaller schools a little recognition for the players achievements there.
Speaking of Vail though, is anyone around the GRLC playing on a team? (or know of a team looking for players for that matter?)

I really think we should try it this year and start it as a tradition. We could definitely get some publicity out of it to promote US Lacrosse. I just don't know how to get it started. We would have to begin at the executive level and move on from there. I would be in for helping coordinate it. Even if it is the GRLC v. just one other conference in one game rather than a tournament it would be worth it, but if it happens the GRLC should be represented. Lets get working on it.

woah Jesse, lets start small (a lesson I learned from a certain webmaster about last year).
How about if the GRLC challenges another conference, say like the SELC? Just for simplicity lets just say that it would be just Div B. Invitations would be made to the first and second team all conference with any declines being moved down to third team or honorable mention. Cost would be distributed to the players because the conferences won't have the money. Cost would be around $25 to $30 to secure officials, practice jersey to be used, field cost. Teams would probably be around 20 or so in size.
I would be happy to organize it if there is a big enough response, but it might be too late to get it done for this year.

ok, now we can think logically and realistically and say that there is no way that anything could be put together this late in the season. the all conference teams aren't announced until the conference playoffs and some of the players will be headed to Blaine after that. Trying to get them to think about another game that would just be for fun would be virtually impossible.
