Whose the favorite? What players should we watch for? Any cinderalla teams? Will anybody beat Southwestern in the B Division?

to be honest it doesnt really look like there are any clear cut favorites as every playoff team has lost to someone else in the LSA and has the ability to do it again. Seems like Tulane is against the highest odds, it's gonna be hard for them to go all season without beating a playoff team and then to beat 3 in a row. Watch Jake Henderson for TxState he'll impress some people
I would be suprised to see Southwestern lose, they're better than some of the division A teams we played

UT hasn't lost to any of the other playoff teams, have they? And they are coming in very hot.

t.u. lost to texas state and they are a playoff team although TXST is not in their division. t.u. also lost to smu (not a playoff team) which also says something. then again A&M lost to t.u. which says alot.

I am still surprised that UNT made the playoffs... congrats and good luck

Yes Tamu33 I would agree it is disappointing about the records of teams and it doesn't bode well for whom ever wins the LSA. Most likely what will follow is a 16th seed and a significant beat down by someone like CSU. Ouch. Lets hope for the future.

The dissapointing thing is not that onlly three of the six division A teams have losing records, its the manner in which they have lost. Being blown out by top twenty five teams does not neccesiraly(sp) better prepare a team for winning the conference/ going to Nat'ls. Unfortunately our league will only send one team to nat'ls, so there will probobably just be a lot of bickering this summer over how difficult every one else's schedules are. I personally appreciate Karl Lynch's style of scheduling teams that we(UNT) are competitive with. Hopefully, it will pay off in the next few weeks.

Oh and I think we should all refer to TAMU as UMAT since that is obviously how things are done there.

Let me stop you right in your tracks. I never post in regards to Texas A&M team matters, but I feel that I need to shed some light on your above post. If you look at A&M's history of scheduling top teams over the past years you will see success of varying degrees. That said, how was the coaching staff at A&M able to predict this year's squad when scheduling decesions are made in College Station up to two years in advance! Why was Michigan on our schedule? Well, we had a gentlemen's agreement with Coach John Paul that Michigan would return the trip to Texas for our trip to Michigan way back in 2002! Were we to tell JP that we did not want his ball club to come down to Texas for a game because we weren't sure what kind of team we were going to have?

Secondly, teams that aspire to be competitive at the national level, which A&M has been for the last five to six years, schedule tough, period, especially when for years, late nineties early 2000's, the teams in the LSA were not very strong (remember the old scores A&M use to put up on teams). Those out of conference games were very much needed to prepare our squad for nationals. Not many 23-2 scores in St. Louis.

And before you begin making statements such as the bolded one above, let me know how many conference titles you have played in, won, or MDIA national tournaments you have particpated in?

I agree with you Golden about Coach Lynch's scheduling philosophy at UNT. I was very excited for Karl and the UNT squad for making the playoffs. Coach Lynch is going about the building process at UNT the correct way in all matters, especially scheduling.

too bad the only preparations UNT has made in years past is just that........preparing to be blown out by Top 25 teams that have a real chance to contend for the LSA Championship. im really disturbed how these guys are making the playoffs for the first in forever (IF EVER!) and they think they know something about lacrosse and good teams. the only good teams you guys have seen are the ones driving back home after waxing that @$$ 25-5 on your home field.

please leave the trumpets (ie Davis) at home when you trip to Waco this weekend. we'll see what you say when Ryan Anderson brings his mastercard and his game with him.

UNT is making its first ever appearance in the playoffs this year. Texas State and Tulane are also making their first ever playoff appearances. Tulane made the playoffs in Division B last year.

The gentlemen (Golden) from North Texas that made the earlier post is a transfer from UT, played on last year's championship team, and played in St. Louis.

the only good teams you guys have seen are the ones driving back home after waxing that @$$ 25-5 on your home field.
