Wow. That's huge...
It's something that I've been saying as a possibility in hypotheticals for a while now, but I didn't expect it to actually happen. This gives a three way tie to the WCLL South, with AU, ASU, and UCSD all 2-1.
Here's something huge.
WCLL Tie Breaker Rules:
1. Record in head to head games between, among, tied teams.
2. Differential in scores in games between, among, tied teams.
3. Differential in scores in games with teams within their division (ie. Division A North, Division A South, etc.) 4. Differential in scores in games with common opponents.
5. Coin Flip.
Ok. So going by this, #1 is a toss up, since ASU beat Arizona, who beat UCSD, who beat ASU. That gives a giant "group sit" of results in that category.
#2 is Differential in scores.
AU over UCSD- 1
ASU over AU- 2
UCSD over ASU- 6
Does that put UCSD #1, ASU #2, and knock Zona out of the WCLL playoffs?
If you call that a toss up, then you go on to #3, which is differential between common division opponents. In this case, SDSU. Zona is 2, ASU is 3, and UCSD played today and I don't know the score yet.
Either way, sounds like Zona may not make the playoffs in the WCLL this year.
