from CATLAXMAN (out of the office, and back on the sidelines):
1-0 UCSB Isaksen (1st possession)
2-0 UCSB Johnson
End of the first quarter UCSB 2 - Chapman 0
Field is very bumpy. Quarter ended with unsportsman like conduct on UCSB goalie, Brittain. UCSB is controlling the ball but poor shooting has held the score down. UCSB has several starters who are not dressed for this one.

Interesting Reporting
To my knowledge, their starters played up until midway through the 4th quarter. Also, several of UCSB's starters didn't suit up? Again, as far as I could tell, there were two or possibly three of their starters that were not in action. Lastly, UCSB was definitely taking shots throughout the 4th quarter. It is absolutely amazing how one sided your perspective is. Anyways, I generally enjoy reading the forums, but do my best to avoid getting involved. On this one, you really left me no option, as I feel the readers deserve accurate reporting. There is doubt about it, UCSB is a great team, and they absolutely deserve a good amount of praise and recognition.

I'm in the Bay Area on my computer. I report what I'm told over the phone as it happens.
The basic story was that UCSB won 12-4 without some of their starters. UCSB substituted freely in the second half. What was inaccurate about that?
I certainly did not mean to minimize the efforts of Chapman. I understand that they only had 17 or 18 players dressed. I mentioned that Goto did not play. It was a tribute to Chapman's fight and desire that they did not give up and mounted a come back in the second half.

LaxCD1,
UCSB was missing 2 starting attackmen, Wilson & Shaw. Neither suited up in addition to a number of subs who also didn't suit up. This is on top of not having normal starting attackman, Christensen, who has not played all year due to injury. The starting attack played most of the game because they were down to 5 attack players total. On defense, they rotated in subs rather than making wholesale changes to the complete unit. The middie lines went to lines 3 & 4 in 3rd & 4th quarters. There was nothing inaccurate in what Bluevelvet reported.
