Just wanted to let everyone know that this year's Georgia/Georgia Tech game will be hosted by Harrison High School which is in West Cobb County (Metro Atlanta). The Coordinators for this event at Harrison HS have worked very hard to make it happen. There will be 6 lacrosse games played in all which include several different HS's from the Atlanta area with the UGA/GT being the featured game at 2:30pm. There will be representatives from Brine Lacrosse and several other vendors at the event. The bottom line is that this is a great way (aside from the SELC tourny) to promote the sport we all love and to expose high school lacrosse players in Georgia to both GT's and UGA's program.
These two rival teams have had successful seasons thus far, and with this game having significant playoff seeding implications it should make for a great game.
The event coordinators at Harrison HS have been advertising this event on Saturday for awhile now and are expecting over 2,000 in attendance throughout the day. So I strongly urge anyone in the metro Atlanta area that is interested to attend this Saturday's event and support the growth of lacrosse in the state of Georgia.
Should be a tremendous day of lacrosse with the first game starting at 10:00 a.m.
Directions to Harrison High School can be found at Georgia's home page at

And as Ken Lovic mentioned in another forum, this should become a great tradition for seasons to come with other high schools already expressing interest in hosting next year's game.
Ken, Please add any info regarding this Saturday that I may have left out.
Good luck to all teams in the SELC this weekend and congratulations to those who have secured a spot in the SELC tournament.

It's great to see that more and more of the high school programs are taking the MDIA programs in Georgia seriously, especially with the work the coaches and players have been putting back into the community.

Thanks Adam,
I enjoy shooting both programs. Both tech and uga lax programs show exemplary sportsmanship and a love for the game.
Shooting the swlll playoffs at emory saturday. While the ladies game is not as exciting as the mens, the ladies sure are fun to shoot. If I was only 21 again....

My job keeps me ridiculously busy and unfortunately this is the first game I have been able to make all year for either of these squads. Any amateur Swami's out there care to provide a breakdown of this one for me? Predictions, who to watch, etc. I would love to hear some thoughts.
Also, I played in the inaugural season of the first Georgia high school lacrosse team at Darlington back in 1990-1991. The sport has come so far in what is relatively a small number of years. I second whoever posted a similar sentiment a couple of posts above. The growth of this sport has been both amazing and exciting to watch over the years and this game in particular should be a great spring carryover of that "clean old-fashioned hate" from the fall.

Yeah I agree, we had nothing to do with the 10 dollars charged at the game, that was totally up to the event planners at the high school and all proceeds went to them. It was a great game and a classic GT-UGA battle for the long rivalry.
