I agree with exception to
Chico State (too high)
Indiana (too high)

Arizona, what about them coming in at 15th?

i have noticed that the poll and a couple of games are still not posted - so the rankings although close may not be exactly accurate

I've stopped looking at Laxpower rankings because they never make any sense and they rarely get it right. The poll that told me that their methodology is messed up is the final poll of last year, which had both BYU & CSU ahead of UCSB. That tells you all you need to know about Laxpower rankings.

I watch them for a good laugh. As an example of how bad they are.... Last year we were 4-11, and we were 8 spots higher than we are right now at 8-0.

Last year we had the reverse of what we have this year when we were ahead of teams we had beat. This year we are behind Indiana who we beat.

I think they over rate home/away especially i close games. i.e. we beat Indiana in East Lansing by 1. Last year we lost 3 road games either in OT or by 1 goal.

I am now tempted to come up with my own system. I am sure I could make a much worse one for uslia.com :)

Hre are a few inputs for your new system Matt.

Jersey color. I assume colors closest to green have higher ratings.

Toughness of mascots.

Longitude of institution.

Reverse alphabetical.

There are so many more....

I was thinking of using strictly alphabetically based on the third letter of the mascot's name, and the fifth letter of the city in which the current school president was born.

How many of you put stock into Strength of Schedule? Laxpower, I think, bases most of its rankings on that and I guess goal differential.

If you look at this year's schedule compared to last year CSU is playing a slightly easier schedule. I'm not saying that they are taking it easy this year, its just that in years past they pretty much only played teams in the top 20 or in D III/D II.

Anyway, I'm just wondering if there is anything to SOS?

You cant go off LaxPower alone, Utah for example is having a great year and the poll doesnt show correctly, another example is Lindenwood they were undefeted when this poll came out
