We all know that Tony Scazzero is the Dean of LSA coaches with his 25 years at the helm of Aggie lacrosse. Looking at the current list of coaches in LSA, the coaches who have been around longer are:
Bill Bowman, Southwestern, around 8 years
Karl Lynch, University of North Texas, I am pretty sure he has been around between 8 to 10 years
Sean Gilligan is probably in his 3rd year with SMU
John Campbell is now in his 2nd year at Texas State
Noah Fink is in his 2nd year at UT
Mike Buffington is in his 2nd or 3rd year with SFA men's lacrosse team
In the days of SWLA, the coaches around for a long time were:
Bob Korba, University of Texas
Don Newberry, SMU
Monty Curtis, Southwestern (around 18 years)

Mike Buffington (Buff) has been with the SFA mens team for two years now. He was with the SFA womens team for several years before that. He switched to us because the womens program was slowly fading. We were all familiar with coach. He is actually an alumnus of SFA and played lacrosse here in the early 90's.

There is a great article about Don in the latest issue of Lacrosse Magazine. Be sure to read it if you get the magazine.

Hey Brent don't forget about us down south. I'm in my fourth year coaching at UH, and I'm still involved in the High School program at Clear Lake.

Moi? (Scratching my head) I must have overlooked you, and I know you will be hoping that Rice will have a steady coach to build up the rivalry between UH and Rice. Thanks for letting me know that you have been coaching UH for 4 years, and I'll keep that in mind.

Did yall know that, as well as coaching lacrosse at SMU, Don Newberry founded the sport of lacrosse and the state of texas. He also invented the internet and, contrary to what some might say, created and runs this website?

That has to be one of the best lines in this LSA Forum. The other one I like came from Mark Anderson when he had expressed that the trip to Austin was priceless, yet it was worthless. He went on outlining the cost of the trip to Austin to hopefully play UT, but it turned out that both teams could not play on the field when the UT officials steadfastly refused to let them play. Mind you, Mark has been coaching Tech for two years now. Just being relevant to this thread.

bil bowman is a great coach. he motivates his players and makes them believe that playing in the LSA B division is near the equivalent to playing NCAA ball. he is a great guy too and if i were ever appointed to coach a lacrosse team, i would hire him as an assistant the second i signed the contract. he is also a grad of Southwestern, which is always a good trait for a coach to have.

So wrong
Yeagy,
You are so wrong on so many different levels.
I mean it would be so different if we were in Stillwater.
