While there are many games on the schedule this week that factor towards playoff, none is any more crucial than the UPS vs PLU rematch. The Loggers beat the Lutes 8-5 earlier this season. Another UPS win captures first place in B-North for the Loggers and with it a bye into the semi-finals. A PLU win by 3 or more goals gives the crown to the Lutes --a 3-goal win would give the two teams ties in record, head-to-head AND goal differential, and PLU would capture the title on Laxpower TSI -- provided the current rankings don't somehow flip-flop.
What will be the outcome of this key game?

UPS and PLU have both really come a long way in recent years. Jason Stockton and Bubba Gutherless brought that team up almost immediately in 1999, and they've been a contender ever since. Same is true with UPS and the efforts that Kyle and Kris have extended. Honestly, if you had asked me in 1999 if a head-to-head game between these two teams would have much bearing on the league's playoffs, I would have said no (UPS seemed on the verge of collapse, and PLU was just beginning to compete).
good luck to both teams

Dan, thanks for the poll question and adding fuel to the fire.... Which ever team wins the B North, will not have a bye. PLU or UPS would be the 3 seed, and have a home game. Even though PLU beat Linfield earlier, if they beat us by 20, Linfield will still get a bye, because it was not a division game.... or alteast that is my understanding. As of now, we think we're playing for the 3 seed, and home game. Other than that, if we ever figure out where we're going to play the game, I'm sure it will be a fun one to watch. From the guys I've talked to at PLU, they're a bit angry about last game..... and for all of you PLU guys, I didn't vote...

Oops
My bad! Kyle is correct that the winner of B-North WILL have to host a quarterfinal against the #6 seed.
Kyle shall I pick UPS publicly to return the "kiss of death" you gave the Huskies last week? Seriously, I haven't cast my own vote yet and don't know which team to pick anyway yet... except that i think this will be a 1 or 2 goal game either way.

I imagine like everyone else that'll be playing this weekend, I'm super excited and pumped for another rival game! I hope this weekend both teams come out and play to their full capabilities to hopefully show everyone what the PNCLL North (Bubba conference) is made of. ANdin turn striking fear into the other playoff teams! Using this game to catapult both teams into the playoffs would be great!
