Game Statistics

Through all the discussions for MVP, Player of the Year, and Rookie of the Year, we all have backed our suggestions and arguments through cetain player statistics.

What does everyone think the most important statistic(s) is/are when the game is all said and done?
Is there something which isn't recorded in the books that overshadows the importance of these stats?

Went with no particular statistic. GB's, faceoffs and clears are definitely up there.

I think groundballs and man up/man down percentages are very important. Actually, if you have a team with sounds fundamentals, you can go a long ways, atleast in the college club level. Everything else "falls into place" when you have the fundamentals down.

It seems to me that it would be really difficult for a team to excel on the field without having a firm grasp on the fundamentals. GBs are great, but if you can't turn those into goals then it will be tough to win games. Goals are great but they need to be in conjuntion with high assists otherwise you just slide hard and fast to prevent goals. If your team can score every time on man up, but the other team commits no penalties it doesn't really matter. Finally if you have the best man down in the nation, but you spend the entire game man down your defense gets warn down and the other team will score. It just seems that any one of these stats alone helps, but may not be more important than another.
