UT picked it up in the 4th quarter and made a run for it but it wasn't enough. Texas State really wanted to win this game and it showed on the field. Hard fought game on both sides.

I just shed a tear of joy. I'm really proud of how TXState has pulled their team from a zero win season two years back into a contender. Stand tall. Barrett and Mo know how things used to be...I can't imagine anyone being more happy than those two.

i'll second that doctor. i remember when texas st. had no credibility at all. and they have had amazing improvement not only from last year to this year, but also from the beginning of this season to now. we could be seeing a texas st. team in the championship game this year...

i'd like to think that my boy max mello had a lot to do with their success in terms of leading the team. (i dont know anyone else who was captain of their team as a freshman...)

if only he could have done that for our high school team....

So at 5-10 it is almost a given that UT will have their first losing season ever.....A&M is 7-10 right now, so they have a chance to pull it above .500....have the aggies ever had a losing season?

Easy, easy....I think it's a little early start this talk of playing in the championship. I'm not going to lie though, it would be nice. I guess we will have to see how things pan out in the next couple of weeks. Should be interesting to say the least.

cheers

I thought both A&M and tu had losing seasons back in the 80's when the teams also competed with men's clubs.

Any of you old guys want to chime in.....

You may be right-you'd have to look at some old bak issues of lax mag. i know that Tech and Sam had some pretty good runs in the late 80's. Not sure about the records though.

I remember having nightmares for weeks when Southwestern University's Scott Adams would run the ball down to our defensive end on a fast break....about 10 times a game!

I started in '95 and don't really remember the "old" days, but UT under Bob Korba's coaching didn't lose a whole lotta anything. When he left, Tony and his A&M crew took over. All I have known is dominance by those two teams. I'm keeping fingers crossed for TX State though. Make the old bobcats proud.
