- The GRLC region has been defined to include the following: Nebraska; Kansas; Oklahoma; Arkansas; Missouri; Iowa; Illinois; Western Kentucky; and Western Tennessee, and Northern Mississippi as well as parts of Indiana and South Dakota.
(b) To establish and monitor eligibility standards for participation in the Conference.
(c) To supervise the conduct of the member teams.
(d) To record and preserve the statistical data of the member teams.
(e) To cooperate with other lacrosse organizations in promoting the sport of lacrosse.
(f) To legislate upon any subject of general concern to member teams.
(g) To establish and maintain a competitive intercollegiate lacrosse Conference that provides an organizational structure for its member teams governed by all the principles of competition and fair play, and that produces an annual champion.

Article 2
Membership

Section 1: Membership to the GRLC is open to any non-varsity two or four year collegiate lacrosse team which currently meets all USL MDIA and GRLC membership requirements, subject to a vote by the current GRLC member teams as set forth in the bylaws. All full member teams must be active members of the United States Lacrosse Men’s Division Intercollegiate Associates (USL MDIA) in good standing. Member teams may not be dually aligned with the GRLC and another conference or lacrosse entity other than the USL MDIA. Member teams may not represent institutions which also field a varsity team.

Section 2: Applications for membership in the GRLC must be requested through and returned to the Secretary of the GRLC. Applicant programs must meet all GRLC and USL MDIA requirements for membership at the time that applications are reviewed and voted upon (Fall Meetings). Applications received later than September 1 of any year shall not be considered until the following fall. Any applicant team must be admitted to the GRLC Division B unless the school requests that they be placed in GRLC Division A. A new team in the GRLC is automatically considered a Division B Mentor team. An application for membership, and placement within Division A or Division B must be approved by a simple majority vote of the full members of the Conference.

Section 3: New members are automatically categorized as being on Administrative Probation (see Article 8 ) for at least their first full year in the GRLC.


Section 4: Annual membership dues shall be approved by a majority vote of the Full Members of the Conference at Conference Meetings. They shall include administrative costs of running the GRLC or GRLC approved events. USL MDIA dues and officials assigning fees and estimated game fees shall be paid to the GRLC.

Section 5: Any institution fielding a Division I-A football program must compete at the Division A level. GRLC programs representing an institution fielding a Division I-A football program wishing to compete at the Division B level may annually petition the full voting body to do so (subject to a 2/3 vote). Such a team competing at the Division B level shall be excluded from GRLC playoffs.

The full-voting members of the Conference shall base approval on a two-thirds vote. Any team winning the GRLC Division B may be placed in the GRLC Division A the following year. Other GRLC teams may be moved to one division to another if the full Executive Board of the GRLC feels that there is a more appropriate level for that team.

Section 4: GRLC Division A programs must play every other Division A program in their subdivision of the Conference at least one time. Unless otherwise designated, the first time they meet any given opponent in a season will be the meeting that shall count towards the GRLC standings. Each Division A member must also play 3 members of the other subdivision (picked at the September scheduling meeting at random). Every GRLC Division A Full member shall be required to play a minimum of 10 USL MDIA Division A games during the regular season. Each GRLC Division A member shall be required to play at least 3 out of conference games. As long as these requirements are met, member teams may schedule as many other member teams from either division, or in any conference, as they deem appropriate.

Section 5: GRLC Division B programs must play every other team in their subdivision at least one time. Unless otherwise designated, the first time they meet any given opponent in a season will be the meeting that shall count towards the GRLC standings. Each Division B program shall be required to play at least two opponents from another subdivision (picked at random at the September scheduling meeting). Every GRLC Division B full member team shall be required to play a minimum of 8 USL MDIA games during the regular season. As long as these requirements are met, member teams may schedule as many other full member teams from either division, or in any conference, as they deem appropriate. GRLC Division B Mentor programs shall be required to play at least 8 and no more than twelve games during the regular spring season. At least 2 of these games must be at home and at least 2 of these games must be away.

Section 6: No GRLC Division A or B program may play non-USL MDIA, non-NCAA programs at their home field. Nor may they host non-USL MDIA or non-NCAA programs as a Neutral site. No GRLC program may use the CAA to secure officials for a non USL MDIA, non- varsity game. GRLC teams cannot count non-USL MDIA or non-NCAA games, nor games outside their division (A or B) on their records, nor may they show non-USL MDIA or non-NCAA games (club teams) on their schedules.

Section 7: When a Division A team plays a Division B team, the game must be held under Division A standards (Such as three officials).



Section 7: The regular season is considered to include any USL MDIA regulation games occurring on or after January 15, and prior to the GRLC Tournament as defined by GRLC bylaws (See section 4).

Section 8: USL MDIA and GRLC rules shall apply year-round to GRLC teams (eligibility, Rules of play, etc, with the exception of Cosmetic rules). Cosmetic rules do apply in the Regular Season.

Section 1: The site for the GRLC post-season tournament shall be selected at each Fall Meeting. Full Members may submit proposals to the Conference prior to the Fall Meeting. (a) The GRLC tournament shall be held two weekends before the USL MDIA National Championship over the course of three days (Friday – Sunday).
(b) The top six teams from Division A and the top six teams from Division B shall compete in the tournament for separate Conference championships.

Section 2: Determination of a Conference champion:
(a) Final Divisional rankings and seeding for the GRLC Tournament shall be determined by final regular season won-lost record against required Divisional opponents.
• Only one regular season contest against any one opponent counts in the rankings, as described in Article 3, Sections 4 and 5.
• Division A seeding shall be as follows: The highest six seeded programs shall receive bids to the tournament based on overall required GRLC record.
• Division B seeding shall be as follows: The highest six seeded programs shall receive bids to the tournament based on overall required GRLC record.
• Playoffs will always feature the lowest remaining seed playing the highest remaining seed.
(b) In the event of a tie, the first tiebreaker shall be the results of head-to-head competition between the two teams during the current regular season (in the game that was determined to count toward the rankings). If this does not produce a solution (due to more than two teams being tied or any other reason), the second tiebreaker shall be overall goal-differential in required GRLC play during the current regular season. Plus or minus goal differentials in excess of 8 shall not count towards the tiebreaker for more than 8 goals. The third tiebreaker shall be a coin flip, with the Vice Commissioner flipping the coin in the presence of at least one other Executive Board member from a different school present.
(c) If a team that is prohibited from playing on Sundays due to school regulations qualifies for a playoff game scheduled for Sunday, that game shall be played Saturday night.

Article 5
Structure and election of Executive Board

Section 1: The GRLC Executive Board consists of six Officers and two Student-Athlete Representatives:
(a) Commissioner
(b) Assistant Commissioner
(c) Secretary
(d) Treasurer
(e) Division B Director
(f) Past-Commissioner (when possible)
(g) Division A Student-Athlete Representative
(h) Division B Student-Athlete Representative

Section 2: Officers of the Conference are elected at the Fall Conference Meeting by a vote of the Full Members. The procedures for nominations and elections are as follows:
(a) At least three months before the Fall Conference Meeting the Secretary shall call for nominations for the posts to be elected that year.
(b) Thereafter, from the date of call by the Secretary until a date one month prior to the Fall Meeting, any Member may submit to the Secretary one or more nominations of Officers.
(c) In the event that no nomination is received during the allotted time, for any office, the Executive Board may make nominations for that office.
(d) No nominations that do not conform to Article 5, Section 2 (b) and/or 2 (c) shall be accepted for any office, except for cases where there has been no nomination for a particular office. In those cases, nominations shall be accepted from Members at the Fall Meeting.
(e) Elections of Officers and Student-Athlete Representatives shall be conducted at the Fall Meeting by secret ballot. The nominee receiving the greatest number of votes (50% +1) for an office is elected to that office. Division A or Division B teams shall only vote for their respective Student –Athlete Representative office. Division A teams may not vote for the office of Division B Director.
(f) Additional ballots shall resolve any tie vote for an office until Section 2 (e), above, is satisfied. Should 3 ballots be cast with no clear winner, the Commissioner shall cast the deciding vote.

Section 3: Restrictions on eligibility to hold an office in the GRLC:
(a) No person associated with a Probationary Member may hold office in the Conference.
(b) No person may hold more than one office at any time.
(c) No person under the age of 21 may hold office in the Conference, except for Student-Athlete Representatives.
(d) Student – Athletes may not hold executive board positions other than Student – Athlete Representatives.
(e) No GRLC program may hold more than one office.

Section 4: In order to provide continuity, elections shall be staggered. The Commissioner and Secretary shall be elected on odd-numbered fall meeting years; the Assistant Commissioner and Treasurer shall be elected on even-numbered fall meeting years. Division B Director and Student Athletes shall be elected annually.

Section 5: Terms of office for Officers shall be two years in length, beginning the day after elections, with the exceptions of Student Athletes and Division B Director. Terms of office for Student Athletes and Division B Director shall be one year in length, beginning the day after elections.

Section 6: Should circumstances require one or more Officers to be fulfilled by appointment, the election process described in Section 2, above, shall take place during the next Fall Meeting regardless of the year. If the next regularly scheduled election for the position(s) is only one year later, then the term of appointment shall be one year.

Section 7: The Conference Assigning Authority shall serve as a non-voting member of the Executive Board. The CAA shall be nominated by the NAA, with input from the GRLC Commissioner, and approved by the full body of voting institutions.

Section 8: A Legal Counsel may be appointed as non-voting members of the Executive Board by a majority vote of the Executive Board. A Legal Counsel shall not be a member of the Executive Board, but may represent the Conference and/or the board as needed.

Duties of Executive Board

Section 1: The Commissioner is the chief executive officer of the Conference and the Chairman of the Executive Board. The Commissioner’s duties include:

(a) Arrange and preside at all meetings of the Executive Board and the Conference.
(b) See that all resolutions passed at Conference Meetings are carried into effect.
(c) Supervise and direct other officers in the performance of their duties and functions.
(d) Fill unscheduled vacancies in elective office by appointment; such appointees to serve until the next Fall Meeting, when a new election can take place (see Article 5, Section 6 above).
(e) Represent the GRLC to all required USL MDIA meetings.
(f) Be otherwise responsible for the proper conduct of the Conference’s business and other matters in its best interest, within the framework of these Bylaws.

Section 2: The Assistant Commissioner is an executive officer of the Conference. He shall: assist the Commissioner in the discharge of any or all of the functions or duties pertaining to that office, act in place of the Commissioner in the event of his absence, succeed to the office of Commissioner in the event of death, resignation or removal from office, and perform other duties that the Commissioner or Executive Board may assign. In addition, he shall:

(a) Oversee the planning and execution of the Conference Tournament.
(b) Serve in a position of Public Relations for the Conference.
(c) Compile GRLC master schedule for the GRLC CAA

Section 3: The Secretary is the administrative officer of the Conference and shall:
(a) Notify Conference membership of all meetings they are expected to attend, keep records of all Conference meetings, and print and distribute such matter as directed by the Commissioner or the Executive Board.
(b) Call for and tender nominations for positions on the Executive Board as outlined in the schedule in Article 5.
(c) Tender applications for admission to the GRLC from non-member teams as outlined in Article 2.
(d) Maintain and update the GRLC website in a timely manner, and maintain and update all Conference statistics during the course of the regular season and playoffs, or oversee others selected to fulfill these duties.
(e) Issue invitations to the GRLC playoffs to teams that qualify.
(f) Monitor the eligibility of individuals within GRLC member teams (player eligibility, coach USL memberships)

Section 4: The Treasurer is the financial officer of the Conference and shall:
(a) Be responsible for funds held and disbursed by the Conference.
(b) Submit invoices to all Member Teams for GRLC dues (including USL MDIA dues and Officials’ assigning fees), Officials’ game fees, and penalties in a timely manner.
(c) Submit, at the Fall Meeting, a detailed report of all receipts and disbursements for the preceding year.
(d) Prepare a budget for the ensuing year and present it at the Fall Meeting.
(e) Pay USL MDIA dues for all member teams that have paid their GRLC dues.
(f) Secure USL memberships for all coaches of all member teams. Such membership fees to be billed to each member team. Coaches must be registered as Varsity Coaches within USL no later than December 15.
(g) Pay Officials assigning fees to proper assignors for all member teams that have paid their GRLC dues.
(h) Pay game officials’ fees upon direction of the Commissioner.
(i) Revoke officials for member teams who are in arrears with their dues or officials payments.
(j) Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Commissioner or the Executive Board.
(k) At the request of any member team, submit all records for audit. This shall occur no more than one time per academic semester, and MUST be performed before each fall meeting occurring in an odd numbered year.

Section 5: The Past-Commissioner provides valuable experience to the Executive Board and can be called upon to serve in whatever capacity he is needed. When a Past Commissioner is unavailable, a Past Commissioner emeritus may be appointed to the Executive Board if deemed appropriate by the Conference Commissioner.

Section 6: The Conference Assigning Authority shall be nominated by the National Assigning Authority of the Men’s Division Officials Council and approved by the full members of the GRLC by simple majority. His attendance at all GRLC Executive Board meetings shall be mandatory and at the cost of the GRLC. His duties shall be agreed upon by the NAA of the USL MDIA. His appointment shall be one year, and he may serve unlimited consecutive terms.

Section 7: The Division B Director shall be responsible for ensuring the development and compliance of all Division B and Division B Mentor status teams. He shall be empowered to investigate allegations of non-compliance and propose disciplinary action to the Executive Board for review and consideration.

Section 8: The Division A and Division B student-athlete representatives shall represent the concerns and voice the view of the wide constituency of student-athletes at all GRLC institutions to the Executive Board when considering all matters. They shall have the power to vote on all items of consideration within the Executive Board, and are encouraged to help form the environment most conducive to Athletics and Academics within the peculiar structure known as Associate Lacrosse.

Section 7: The Executive Board shall meet at least twice a year, once at the Fall Meeting and once at the GRLC Tournament, and is empowered to:
(a) Recommend and direct the general policy of the Conference in the interim between Conference Meetings.
(b) Appoint such committees as may be necessary for executing the provisions of the Bylaws.
(c) Make interpretations of the Bylaws in the interim between Conference Meetings.
(d) Adopt a budget for the ensuing year and present it at the Fall Meeting.
(e) Place any matter of concern on the agenda of Conference Meetings.
(f) Call for a special meeting of the Conference.
(g) Investigate and make recommendations on possible disciplinary actions involving member teams.
(h) Investigate and adjudicate any questions regarding the eligibility of individual players on member teams.
(i) Select the site for the annual GRLC Tournament.
(j) Select All Conference teams and other honors

Removal from office of Officers

Section 1: Any Officer failing to meet the responsibilities of his office, or acting in violation of these Bylaws, may, after proper application of the procedures of this Article, be found derelict of duty and accordingly subjected to the appropriate disciplinary action as determined by the Executive Board.

Section 2: Any Officer may be removed from office either for cause, or because of physical or mental disability which renders the proper performance of his duties impossible, by means of one of the two procedures below:
(a) Any board member may initiate a petition in writing for removal, citing the reasons in detail, and after having the petition signed by at least two other Executive Board members, forwarding it to the Secretary, who will see that copies are sent to all other Executive Board members. The Commissioner will conduct an investigation and will present the facts found to the full Executive Board, giving the challenged Officer or Director thirty days to respond. This response will be circulated to the full Executive Board and a vote called for by the Commissioner. A two-thirds vote of the Executive Board (excluding the challenged Officer or Director) is required for removal from office. Frivolous or false use of this provision by any member of the Executive Board is in itself cause to open charges under this Article.
(b) By petition from the membership: Such a written petition, duly executed and signed by representatives of one-third of the Full Members and forwarded by representatives to the Secretary will be handled in the identical manner set forth in Article 7, Section 2 (a) above. Frivolous or false use of this provision by any member of the Conference is in itself cause to open charges under this Article.

Section 3: Should the Secretary be the challenged officer, a petition under the provision of this Article should be sent to the Commissioner. Should the Commissioner be the challenged officer, the Secretary shall assume his duties under the provision of this Article.

Section 4: The Executive Board, at its option and discretion, may consider further disciplinary action against any Officer or Director removed from office for cause.


Article 8
Penalties, probation, expulsion, resignation and reinstatement of members

Section 1: There are two types of probation within the GRLC:
(a) Administrative Probation restricts a team from voting on any and all GRLC issues, referendums and elections during the course of their probation.
(b) Disciplinary Probation lasts for at least one year and restricts a team from all voting privileges and all GRLC and USL MDIA post-season play.

Section 2: Newly admitted Members of the Conference must serve at least one year of GRLC play on Administrative Probation. After one year, if they have fulfilled all the obligations set forth by the Bylaws and the Conference, they may, upon the recommendation of the Executive Board and by a majority vote of the Members of the Conference at the next Conference Meeting, have the probationary status removed.

Section 3: Any Member of the Conference not complying with all the regulations set forth by the Bylaws and the Conference may, upon majority vote of the Executive Board be placed on Administrative or Disciplinary Probation; or upon recommendation of the Executive Board and by a two-thirds vote of the Full Members of the Conference, be expelled from the GRLC.
(a) Members placed on probationary status may be removed from probation upon the recommendation of the Executive Board and by a majority vote of the Members at a subsequent Conference Fall Meeting.

Section 4: Any Probationary Member that continues to fail to comply with the GRLC team regulations, as set forth by the Bylaws, the Executive Board and the Conference, may, upon the recommendation of the Executive Board and by a two-thirds vote of the Full Members of the Conference at the next Conference Meeting, be expelled from the GRLC.

Section 5: No member shall be permitted to resign from the Conference while it is indebted to the Conference in any manner or while it is the subject of any disciplinary investigation.

Section 6: Members who resign from the Conference or are expelled may regain membership only under the provisions of Article 2 of these Bylaws at least one year after they are expelled or resign.

Section 7: Teams that fail to meet established GRLC deadlines may be fined according to a time and payment schedule determined by the Commissioner and Treasurer.


Article 9
Meetings

Section 1: The Fall Meeting shall be held at such time and place as determined by the Commissioner. The Secretary shall notify all members of the Conference of the time and site of the meeting at least forty-five days prior to the meeting. The Secretary shall also request agenda items from each member team and each Executive Board member at this time. After the Commissioner has approved and finalized the agenda, the Secretary shall then distribute the planned agenda to all member teams prior to the Conference Meeting.
(a) The Executive Board shall also meet at the GRLC Tournament at a time and place as determined by the Commissioner.

Section 2: Any Full Member that does not have a proper representative (as outlined in Section 4, below) in attendance at a Conference Meeting shall be automatically placed on Administrative Probation, and can be placed on Disciplinary Probation or expelled by vote of the Full Membership, (based on a 2/3 vote of the membership present).

Section 3: Any Probationary Member that does not have a proper representative (as outlined in Section 4, below) in attendance at a Conference Meeting shall be automatically placed on Disciplinary Probation or expelled by vote of the Full Membership (based on a 2/3 vote of the membership present).

Section 4: Teams will be limited to 1 speaking representative at each Conference meeting (two when including a campus representative). Should a team have more than 2 representatives, the Coach shall be the speaking representative. Should the coach not be present at the meeting, the representative with the right to speak must be declared at the opening of the meeting. Proper speaking representatives at Conference Meetings can be:
(a) Head Coach
(b) Full-time Assistant Coach
(c) Club President
(d) Other club representative who is currently serving as a GRLC Officer.
(e) Campus representative (such as faculty advisor or Head of Rec. Sports)

Section 5: Each Full Member team shall have a single vote at Conference Meetings regardless of the number of representatives present. Only Full Members may vote at Conference Meetings.

Section 6: All scheduling for GRLC play will be conducted at the Fall Meeting using such procedures as adopted by the Conference. A tentative GRLC schedule shall be tendered to the GRLC CAA prior to the end of the GRLC Fall Meeting. All schedules shall be finalized no later than November 1 No changes shall occur to any team’s schedule after this date without financial fines as set forth by the USL MDIA bylaws. A team’s schedule must include all games played (Including home, away and neutral site games and scrimmages; both within and outside the USL MDIA). A team may not, however, list a scrimmage on their website or other publicity venues (scrimmages include all games played outside NCAA rules), and may not include games against non USL MDIA or NCAA varsity teams on their website or other publicity venues. (This includes Laxpower, printed schedules, and all other media).
(a) Fall ball schedules must be similarly completed no later than September 21 of any given fall.

Financial Responsibility

Section 1: No Officer or member of the Conference may incur any expense or debt in the name of the GRLC without specific authorization from the Executive Board or the consensus of the membership at a Conference Meeting.

Section 2: The Executive Board may; at its discretion, confer a financial honorarium upon individuals providing services or resources to the Conference deemed worthy of such recognition.

Section 3: Officers of the Conference and other individuals charged with conducting the Conference's business shall normally be reimbursed for expenses incurred during the routine discharge of the duties of their Offices and responsibilities. Should any such reimbursement be denied, the individual concerned may petition the Executive Board for reconsideration. Such Petition shall be submitted to the Treasurer, who shall forward it to the Commissioner for action. The Commissioner shall submit the petition together with the reason for denial of the expense to the Executive Board for a vote as soon as possible. A simple majority vote of the Executive Board shall decide the issue and the expense shall be allowed or denied accordingly.
(a) Claims for expenses submitted to the Treasurer must include appropriate supporting documentation.

Section 4: The Commissioner may, subject to the approval of the Executive Board by a majority vote, call for a special audit of the Conference’s financial condition once a year.


Article 11
Eligibility and conduct of individual players and coaches

Section 1: All players on GRLC member teams must minimally conform to USL MDIA eligibility rules, as outlined in the bylaws of the USL MDIA.

Section 2: All players on GRLC member teams shall be required to obtain membership within the USL. These memberships must be obtained no later than January 15 of the competition year.

Section 2: Any challenges to the eligibility of an individual player, or concerns over the conduct of a player, coach or associated team personnel, is to be submitted in writing to the Secretary, stating the reasons and evidence for such a challenge. The Secretary shall forward the submission to the Executive Board for resolution. Unresolved issues may be sent to the USL MDIA Chair of Eligibility.

Section 3: The Executive Board, shall, at its discretion, provide for the investigation and resolution of all questions on the eligibility and conduct of individual players, coaches and team personnel.

Section 4: If a player is found to be ineligible, the Executive Board has several recourses at its disposal. Based on a majority vote of the Executive Board, it may require one or more of the following:
(a) That the ineligible player be banned from participation in any of his member team’s lacrosse games for the remainder of the season, and until eligibility can be restored and confirmed.
(b) That the ineligible player be banned from participation in any of his member team’s, or any other GRLC member team’s, lacrosse games for life.
(c) That the member team in violation forfeit all games for which the ineligible player appeared on the official team roster, during the time he was ineligible.
(d) That the member team in violation be ineligible for post-season play, including the GRLC Tournament, for a period not to exceed two seasons (including the current season).
(e) That the Full Members of the Conference vote on placing the team in violation on Probationary Status, or if they are already on probation, expelling them from the GRLC (according to the procedures outlined in Article 8, Sections 3 & 4).
(f) Should any coach or officer of any team be found to be knowingly allowing an ineligible player to participate in GRLC events, that coach or officer may be banned from participation in any of his member team’s, or any other GRLC member team’s lacrosse games for anywhere from one year to life.

Section 5: If a player, coach, official, or team personnel is found to have conducted him or herself in a manner not befitting the GRLC, the Executive Board, based on a majority vote, may require one or more of the following:
(a) That the person or persons in violation be banned from participation in one or more of their member team’s subsequent USL MDIA lacrosse games. This punishment is not to exceed 5 games or through the end of the current season, including post-season play, whichever is longer.
(b) That the Full Members of the Conference vote on whether or not the person or persons in violation be banned from participation in their member team’s, or any other GRLC member team’s, lacrosse games for life. A two-thirds vote is required for this punishment to be handed down.
(c) That the game(s) in which the incident occurred be forfeited by the offending person(s)’ team.
(d) That the offending person(s)’ team be ineligible for post-season play, including the GRLC Tournament and the USL MDIA Tournament, for a period not to exceed two seasons (including the current season).
(e) That the Full Members of the Conference vote on placing the offending person(s)’ team on Probationary Status, or if they are already on probation, expelling them from the GRLC (according to the procedures outlined in Article 8, Sections 3 & 4).

Section 6: The definition of misconduct shall be determined on a case-by-case basis by the Executive Board, taking into account precedents set by the outcome of previous cases, for the purposes of defining misconduct and punishment. However, fighting during a contest (defined by the time either team takes the field for warm-ups to the time either team leaves the venue after the game) shall be enforced strongly according to NCAA Rules. Likewise, during a game, any players, coaches or team personnel leaving the bench area during a fight, shall be disciplined strongly according to NCAA Rules

Section 1: The following list of Team Regulations governs all member teams. Failure to fulfill any of these regulations may subject the violating team to penalties as outlined in Article 8. Team Regulations are as follows
(a) Each member team must attend all official Conference Meetings as outlined in Article 9.
(b) Each member team must pay full GRLC member dues and fees and fines accrued (including USL MDIA dues and GRLC assignor fees) to the Conference Treasurer by established due dates.
(c) Each member team must submit a completed GRLC Roster Form online by the established due date.
(d) Each member team must provide an updated website which is professional in nature. A website shall include at the least, Contact Information; a schedule, and a player roster including name, jersey number, position, year of eligibility, hometown, and high school. This shall have occurred no later than December 1 of the year any new team is admitted.
(e) Each member team must submit a GRLC Game Report within 72 hours following each regular season and post-season game. Home team game reports shall be the official GRLC game report. Home teams are reminded that NCAA rules require home teams to have their scorebook signed by each official before he leaves the field.
(f) Each member team must submit an Officials Rating Form to the Conference Assigning Authority (CAA) within 72 hours following each game.
(g) Each member team must notify their opponent, the CAA and the Conference Secretary at least 2 weeks in advance of a game cancellation, other than games cancelled by an act of God. Should an Act of God necessitate a game cancellation, the host team must notify their opponent, the CAA, and the Conference Secretary as soon as such a decision has been made. The canceling team must, within one week of said cancellation, submit a make-up date for the cancelled game if that game is within the GRLC. If the game is not being cancelled by Act of God, that team shall give the CAA a two week cushion for finding officials. If the game is being cancelled by Act of God, that team shall give the CAA a 5 day cushion for finding officials.
(h) Each member team must have an adult (over 21), non-playing, non-undergrad coach on the sidelines for each GRLC game. The coach must be listed on the pre-season roster as the head coach or an assistant coach. The designated head coach of each GRLC team must be a full member of USL as described above. Changes must be registered in advance with the Secretary on a new roster form. In the event that a coach is not available for a particular game, any pre-season assistant coach may serve as head coach. In the event that an assistant coach is not available to serve as coach, the player president of that team (who shall have been declared at the GRLC fall meetings) must serve as head coach in a non-uniformed, non-playing role; or that team must forfeit the game. Any person standing in the coach’s box during any game must be a USL member (coaches, assistant coaches, etc). Trainers and Managers are to stand in the players box.
(i) Each member team must provide a regulation lacrosse playing field in compliance with NCAA rules. Per the NCAA rulebook, any deviations from the regulation playing field must be agreed upon in writing between participating teams, with notification sent to the Conference CAA prior to the day of the game on the Game Contract. (See the most recent NCAA Lacrosse Rule Book) Goals must conform to NCAA standards and must be painted orange. Cones or pylons must be provided as stipulated by NCAA rules.
(j) Each member team must have a scorer’s table, three chairs, two clocks, and two substitution horns at every home game and every hosted neutral site game.
(k) Each member team, when hosting a game, must provide an official scorekeeper who must provide a copy of the official scorecard to the visiting team following the game. Each team must also provide an official and knowledgeable timekeeper for each game.
(l) Each member team must provide ball retrievers with the necessary protective equipment behind each goal for the entire game, or insure that the proper number of balls are provided at the end lines, as determined by the referee.
(m) Each member team must provide ice and separate water on the field for visiting teams.
(n) Each member team should provide adequate medical care at each home game. This is minimally defined as a student athletic trainer and a working cell phone. Mentor teams may substitute any person with basic medical training and a working cell phone on site for a trainer.
(o) Each member team should make every effort to provide locker room and shower facilities for visiting teams and officials.
(p) Each member team must provide security at all home games, and attempt to ensure that alcoholic beverages are prohibited at the game site. No promoting, providing or vending of alcohol shall be allowed by GRLC teams or vendors at GRLC game sites.
(q) Each member team must have uniforms and equipment that meet all NCAA requirements. Uniforms and helmets may not be used for the purposes of advertising of sponsors. Home teams shall wear a light color and away teams shall wear a dark color when possible. Should both teams have uniforms of a similar color, it shall be the responsibility of the home team to wear a different color.
(r) GRLC teams are not permitted to play or scrimmage High School teams or High School clubs, nor may they allow High school players to participate in practices, scrimmages or games regardless of the time of year. If a player should be under the age of 18, parental consent must be garnered before he is allowed to participate in GRLC required games.
(s) Each member team must attend all scheduled regular season and tournament games. Should a game be cancelled for any reason (including an act of God), all GRLC games must be made up, and take precedence over non-conference games. All USL MDIA games take precedence over non USL MDIA games.
(t) Each member team must abide by the eligibility requirements of the GRLC, USL MDIA and their academic institution.
(u) Each member team must fulfill all GRLC obligations as outlined in the Conference Bylaws and determined by the Conference and Executive Board.
(v) Each team must provide a finalized schedule, indicating home games and hosted neutral site games, to the Commissioner, Secretary, Treasurer and Conference CAA by the established due date.
(w) GRLC programs are not permitted to give athletic, alumni or leadership scholarships to lacrosse players until the national board of directors has established a process of governing such scholarships. Such scholarships as an institution might give for need based, minority, academic, or major-related student-athletes would still be acceptable, so long as lacrosse players were not disproportionately targeted for such scholarships.
(x) Each member team must have a constitution submitted to the Conference Secretary in which it submits to the authority of the GRLC and USL MDIA.
(y) GRLC Division A programs may not use players or undergraduate students as drivers to reach away games more than 100 miles from home. Beginning in the spring of 2006, no GRLC non-mentor program may use players or undergraduate students as drivers to reach away games more than 50 miles from home.

Section 2: All member teams are responsible for informing their individual players, coaches and personnel concerning GRLC team regulations, and ensuring compliance with the same. All persons representing a GRLC team shall be considered knowledgeable of all GRLC, USL MDIA, and NCAA rules and regulations.


Article 13
Nature and amendment of these Bylaws

Section 1: These Bylaws, in every part, are binding on the Executive Board and the membership of the GRLC.

Section 2: At each Fall Meeting the Conference will accept proposals to alter or amend these Bylaws. Alterations and amendments of these Bylaws must be approved by a two-thirds vote of the Full Members of the Conference.

For all those who might be looking for these now, or might need to look for them later. Please note that these bylaws are dated and have undergone some changes, but the vast majority of everything is still the same.
