We're about halfway through the season, so what freshmen have been stepping up?

Me post about Iowa?! No?!

Anyways, as for Iowa, defensemen Ben Diedrich has played well this year, usually first pole off the bench, started a couple games. I heard he played well against Wagner this weekend (I heard he only had 1 or 0 goals against Iowa, I could be wrong), not that didn't stop ISU to score 10-12 other ones.

Another one who should be decent is defensemen Casey Larson, brother of senior Matt Larson. Casey has played well this season despite not playing his senior year in high school so it is all coming back to him. Plus he sports a mohawk like his brother.......those crazy Larsons.......

I hope they're not related to that crazy Larson in Minneapolis - Chris!!
I've never seen him with a mohawk, but he's scary enough without it!

ah... the familiar sounds of another person who is upset over the age of one of LUs players. When we (Dordt) played them two seasons ago at the crossover I remember the attackman I was defending against was rumored to be 25 or so too. In fact, I think that there have been grumblings every year about their older players. I say give it a rest, though they aren't "traditional" students, who cares. They probably would be really good if they were only 19 or 20 anyway. let the "old timers" play!

I believe the attackman you are referring to is Cory Schubert and if memory serves me correctly, he was 24. Regardless, he was a great player.....kinda funny that he coached me as a JV player in high school then I get to college and end up playing against him.
You are correct though, he was very good as a 19/20 year old.

What difference does it make, if these guys have eligilibity left then let them play.

My twin brother(Attack) and I (Defense), are both 23, but we didn't start playing until over 2 years ago. Does that mean I fall into the "let the old timers play" group? I don't know if I feel comfortable with that, maybe it could be refered to as a more politically correct term, like, the old balls group.

On a lighter note we have some promising freshmen, a big one is our goalie this year, Justin Lamberson. He has done very well.

Justin combs is on pace to score 100 points for lindenwood. I would say that is pretty impressive. Also, there other transfer attackmen is doing quite well...there 13-0, gotta be doing something right on both sides of the ball!

I think BYU has a lot of older players on there team, b/c of the required mission they must go on---- not one ever talks about that.

Combs should be a first team all american. Period.

He should be up there but I don't know about first team. You also have some great attackmen from CSU, Michigan, BYU, UCSB, Sonoma. Yes Combs is putting up the numbers to be a first team and I hope that he gets it, I just don't think he will.
