All Conference?
With only about 3 weeks left before playoffs begin, i was wondering who everyone thinks should be all conference and or maybe all american. How do they determine all conference? do the coaches pick? how many players do they pick for all confernce??

Coaches were informed of the all conference process at the league meeting this past Saturday in Ames.
There will be separate A Division and B Division All Conference teams like last year.

This was discussed at the league meeting in Iowa State. To date, only one school has followed directions.
1. There will be all conf teams.
2. After each game, each team is to send 3 names (numbers acceptable) from the opposing team who the team leadership believe were the best 3 on the field for the opponent in that game.
3. League executive board will tabulate, and use the tabulation as a recommendation on the all conf. teams. It is not controling.
4. There will be an all conf A and B first team and second team. Depending upon national requirements, there may be Hon. Mention.
Again, only one school e-mailed me with their 3 names of their opponents after ISU, and it's 4 days post-weekend.

SWEET!! Looks like i am all conf in someones eyes, thanks Jonny!! I really never put myself in that category before i am glad someone finnaly thinks that i am awesome, and sees the talent i posses.
Instead of attempting to mock our team and talking about my awesomeness, Would you like to throw out a few names of your own for MVP or All-Conf???

It is my impression that Johnny's comments were more of a compliment to the entire SJU team which is demonstrating superior play within the B division and against A teams as well.
Tone doesn't always come through well in these forums (as I've found out the hard way)

Why is that the team leaders (im assuming captains) nominate rather than the team coach? I would think that the coaches have a better idea and are more aware of which players from the opposing team to nominate.
By the way, Johnny just wants somebody to mention his name so I will take the liberty of doing this....And the slowest attackmen in the league...Johnny Erickson. There you go Johnny, everyone now know who you are.

"Team leaders" covers situations in which a team does not have a fully engaged coach and thus would allow for team captains/officers to make the nominations.

Here is my view but thats only A division. Lets be real there are only really 4 a teams and their players should primarily be the all conference players. UMD, UMN, UWSP,..... Moorhead? These are the best players in my mind. Big Game UMD VS UMN saturday night under the lights in D-Town, expect 600 ro 700 Gopher hating fan the arrive and bring the ruckus. Good Day
