Yes, that was an amazing performance by Johnson. I remember sitting in the 3rd row of M&T Bank Stadium playing out of his mind. Amazed at how he was playing.
But, to show how old I am, I think that a better performance by a goalie than Johnson was by Scott Bacagalupo (sp?) of Princeton WAY back in 1992. He was, I believe a 3x goalie of the year, but when Princeton won their first title back in '92 against Syracuse in double OT 10-9, he was absolutely amazing, going up against "Laser" Lockwood, Marachek, Dom Finn - all pre-Powell brothers.
I watched a "bootleg" tape of that game that my neighbor (who introduced me to lacrosse) as it was played at Franklin Field and he was literally a brick wall.
I still think Scott Bacagalupo was the best ever college goalie, better than Quint K.

Ah, shoot, I should edit my last post. I haven't seen Larry Quinn or Beardmore play. I should have wrote that Bacagalupo was the best that I'd ever seen. I've only seen a few clips of Quint K, when he was at Hopkins, but never a full game. My bad!! Didn't mean to hijack this thread.

Great goalie? George Slabowski USMA '83, I think he still has the Army career save record. He played more on the offensive end than he did in the crease. The single greatest performance? Tillman was impressive, but I think Quint in his Frosh year @ Hopkins in the Natl' Champ. game- in '87,he wins the MVP as a freshman! And that was JHU's last title. He was in the zone before anyone had even heard of it.
