Chico's Losses are to:

the #8 D2 team NDNU = the first game of the season

the #10 team Oregon (by 1 goal)

the #2 team Sonoma (by 1 goal)

the # 9 team Boston College

and a rough loss to Simon Fraser, which I'll admit hurt us but it shouldn't be enough to keep us out of the top 16.

We might be 6 and 5, but well make our stand in the playoffs.

but they were ranked higher then us, Chico, at the time of the game.

Fraser might have gone to $#!+ after THEY BEAT OREGON (7 to 5). That game doesn't seem to hurt Orgeon, so why should it hurt CHICO.

Oregon also started 14 spots higher then Chico in the first poll so that will affect why they are ranked ahead of you. It is a lot of harder to move up spots then drop.

Also I noticed you went back in and edited your post to bold that you lost to NDNU, any game against NCAA D1-D3 teams should not play affect into your USL MDIA ranking. FSU just lost by 9 to a good CW Post team (#5 D2 team), should they drop because of it, no. NDNU is also not ranked #8 in the coach's poll, you're looking at Lax Power computer rankings.

Real simple, go out and prove your better then X-team on the field rather then posting on a message board.

In that case our record is 6 and 4. Any ways in the last 5 games we are 4 and 1 with a loss to sonoma by one goal, and we will continue to prove it Iowa.

Thank you for pointing out I played at Iowa......this has nothing to do with the argument.

I am done arguing about this.

I'm pretty sure that Chico coach Robbie Warner (whom I have always greatly respected as being the first - and maybe still the best - great goalie in the MDIA) would not appreciate his players on the message board hyping up his team in this manner. The great teams get it done on the field, not on the keyboard. This is two separate forum topics (and probably two separate forums - FD ring a bell, Chuck?) at least where the Chico name is being sullied through the mud by a renegade typist with no regard for his team's dignity.
Always on point . . .

The entire point of the message board is to have a good time and speak about how you feel about your team. I have unlimited faith and confidence in the entire Chico team, and these are my feelings on the matter so there is no need to get worked up about it. I know where Chico belongs in the rankings and I am simply voicing my reasoning. Regarding the UCSD comments, they are not a joke as a team and their ranking is not a joke, but Chico’s ranking is a joke. I am merely using their situation to defend our ranking.

Chico should be right up there with UCSD.

Chuck, you may be a great ninja fighter but Chico still has to prove its a team worthy of going to MN, you admit the Simon Fraser loss was bad, what about the BC loss, it was their 4th game in 4 days that was your chance to make a stand. UCSD may be overrated at 11, but they've already won 9 games this year.

Mr. Norris,

Lets be serious. I don't think its always a fair argument to justify ranking by examing games by other teams, but if thats the route your taking, consider that Simon Frasier almost lost to U. Rhode Island, one of if not the worst team in what the WCLL claims is the WORST league in the USLIA. So- if you you lose to Simon Frasier, which unfortunately is having an off year it seems so far, a team that got played by URI, then how in the world could you suggest that Chico is better than its 6-5 record? To me, it would seem that your record is indicitive of a medicore squad this year, capable of some great games (Sonoma) and some bad and perhaps unlikely losses (SF).

Having been out there and seeing first hand what Chico is about at this point in the year, its no surprise your at 6-5. Very clearly, youre NOT a top 16 team, and no one should be at 6-5 with the loses you've had. You say you'll make your stand in the playoffs? Hopefully you do and as history would have it, you will, but come on. Start proving it now. BC for instance is a #9 team. There is certainly a confidence that the team could get higher in the rankings, but as Reality would have it, our schedule is not strong enough to justify it and we need to keep winning games and prove it in the PCLL Championship and then in MN.

Win some games. The very fact that your losses are against 3-4 top 10 teams proves you DON'T belong higher.

Have you seen Simon Fraser play? Have you seen Rhode Island? I sat there and watched those two play, in what was one of the best games I have ever seen in over 25 years of watching west coast college lacrosse. Those were not garbage teams out there, rather it was a tremendous game of quality lacrosse. Personally I think it's disappointing for SFU to be dropped from the ratings at 8-4 with road wins over #10 and #17. And I also won't be surprised to see URI upset one the PCLL teams down the stretch. The Rams can play.

URI is having a tough season and over the last couple of years has had to endure changes in the coaching staff, some talent losses, and most importantly, serious landscaping at URI that cost them field time. They are in a rebuilding phase and I expect to see them back to fighting form within the next two seasons. An ambitious West Coast trip with aggressive scheduling may have hurt their record in the short-term, but will make them stronger in the future.

Thanks for seeing past the record and pointing out the quality program they have there Dan Wishengrad. If a PCLL team suffering an off year is still a team worthy of praise and able to take a perenial tournament attendee into OT, it only speaks of the strides the league as a whole has made in the past three seasons. Maybe other coaches will begin to take notice as well.

URI should be proud of who they are, architects of our entrance into the MDIA and the first PCLL team to ever represent at Nationals. They will get back there at some point, hopefully sooner rather than later.

I phrased the URI and SFU inappropriately. I did not intend to make them sound less than they are. So far, SFU is below where we all thought they'd be, but I agree, not a bad team- just an off year (so far).

My point to Chuck Norris was more on the lines of perception, which I did not make clear. Losses to Cal and BU would justify that they could go in any direction. They were impressive in Seattle, playing 3 great games against some solid opponents. But lacking in league play to this point. And comming from the PCLL, they are at the bottom. (0-1, 0-5). So although you saw a great game, URI is still at the bottom. My argument was not to jab a team but to counter Chuck's claim by using his own method and proving, as the numbers would indicate, that he's wrong.

Can't hate on the PCLL- we're becomming a good league :D

Simon Fraser is having a off year. They started off the season on a high note with 2 quality wins over Chico and Oregon and a 5 and 0 record, but since then they have been having a tough season. Simon Fraser lost to Washington and Cal Ploy, teams that Chico beat. Washington beat SFU 14 to 2, Chico beat Washington 16 to 6. Cal Ploy beat SFU 14 to 3, Chico beat Ploy 9 to 6. SFU beat Oregon 7 to 5, and Chico lost to Oregon 11 to 10 in a great game.

Chico has to overcome the lose to SFU, and has, so far, by beating teams that beat SFU and playing Sonoma to a 1 goal game.

BC is a great team that deserves to be ranked #9. Chico must work hard in the playoffs to make up for this loss.

Good luck to all the teams in the playoffs...
