Red Sox World Series Trophy

Postby Gregg Pathiakis on Tue Apr 05, 2005 2:07 pm

Waited two hours in line, but I finally got to see it today. Amazing. Not the trophy itself.. just the feeling of finally seeing it. I've been waiting 86 years to see this... ok, only 25, but you get the picture. If anyone wants to see it, send a text message to 9782041166. I'll try and upload a pic this week so I can post it here also.

Just spent $15 so I can listen to Sox games at "work"...yeah, now I'm really going to get something done.

I know the Yanks had the first bit of redemption on Opening Day, but 10 games into the season (sometime around then), the Yanks go to Fenway. Sounds normal, but thats the game where the Sox get their rings. I wonder if they scheduled it for NY to be there.

i hope the boston bandwagon runs out of gas soon, without the curse they are just an overpaid team like the Yankees, Mets etc..

Teams like BOSTON and the Yankees are ruining baseball more then steriods ever will.

With that attitude, do yourself a favor and never go to the East Coast.

Oh, crazed Red Sox fans. You would think Jesus himself came down and batted cleanup for you guys in the Yankees series last year.

My beloved Yanks got another victory today, off a sweet 9th inning Jeter homerun. God, if that happened last year, how much agony my ears would have been spared. This is the first time the Sox have been two games under .500 in like 10 years. Sox rotation is looking a little sickly. Wells is you number two guy? Good luck with all that!

I am glad you got to see the trophy Gregg, it might be a century before you see it again.

Any poser can like the Yankees, that's for sure. Oh wait, that's the New York standard. I know all of you guys have a Mets, Giants and Islanders hat in your closet... they always come out when those teams do better. And then I have to spend all my time hearing, "No way, man! I was always a Mets fan! Even when they were bad!"

All that matters is that the one Red Sox championship is a million times more important and more sweet than all of the Yankees' championships combined. Ahhhh the joys of signs and signifiers...

And best of all? The entire city of New York has to be quiet until at least November. That's right... shhhhhh... no no no... shhhhh....

New Yorkers should still be gagging on the biggest choke job in sports history.

All I know is with the Sox win last year, I can die a happy man! It doesn't matter what happens this year or next, they won the Series finally and put a giant dagger in the Yanks with that 4 game streak. I only wish I could have been in the skybox with Steinbrenner to see his head explode!
If the Yankees win this year, that's OK. We got ours. Now if the Cubbies can only come through...

if the cubbies come through with a win, all hell will break lose. if you think yank and sox fans are obnoxious, wait and see what happens if the cubbies win. it's like the sox and yanks combined so let's hope the curse still runs strong with them.

Opening Day at Fenway is April 11. My mother spent $800 for two tickets for me and my father for Christmas. It will be worth every penny she spent. A good friend of mine is flying in from Vegas just to go to this game. It will be the ultimate feeling to see them get the rings in front of the Yankees... probably better than winning it all to begin with. I just wish I could see people like Dan Morris' face when it happens. Priceless.

As for the scheduling, it was done before the playoffs began. Teams rotate their opening day versus other divisional opponents, so the time was just perfect.

CUBS baby, I have 10 bucks riding on them to make the series. (Got 20 to 1 odds back in NOVEMBER) Only problem is that I also have 10 bucks riding on the Astros winning the division (10-1 odds), so I need the Cubbies to win the wildcard then go to the series so I can have a big payday.
