No, Tip couldn't make it do to a family obligation. We did miss him but as I said in my game report I am very proud of the way the rest of the team stepped up thier game.

15 Points for Kladis

Postby neil on Wed Apr 06, 2005 12:35 pm

I'm jumping in a little bit late here, but I do feel the need to make a comment about the small discussion of Kladis being on the field after 15 pionts or whatever-

Kyle hit is right on the head in regards to the other players on the team learning more when he is on the field. Ricky is far from the most gifted athlete on the lacrosse field, probably in most every game he plays in- however, two things he does that make him a good lacrosse player, and probably the most successful player/coach that I can remember coming across- 1) he knows the game very well and 2) better than anyone I have played with at any level, he makes those around him play better. Younger players on the field feel a confidence and can learn so much more by playing with Rick rather than being told what to do or try to emulate what they see in practice. Having played with him for two years and knowing him as well as anyone, Ricky could honestly care less about how many points or goals he gets. After every game I ask how many he dunked or how many assists he came up with and he always tells me, but he's usually WAY off, meaning that he doesn't know, or care, or both. Nice win GU, keep it up.
