from what I've heard, we'll re-form as a club next year and play in the spring. it's going to be kinda rough getting things started again, but at least we'll be able to play.
as far as competition for making the team, we welcome anyone on the team. competition as far as us and the rest of the league goes, we're not expected to win a championship anytime soon. We have a decent amount of talent, especially some of the younger guys. As a team, we have potential. We just haven't been able to really bring it together. Maybe a good coach would help with that, I dont know (we dont really have a coach).
If you're coming to Rice next year, I can tell you that the lacrosse team is a great group of guys. I was a freshman on the team this year, and my teammates are my best friends -- they're like brothers to me. Hopefully we'll at least get to play some games next year, winning some would be nice. But either way, you'll be part of a good group of guys that have a strong bond through their love of the game.

Thanks for the reply. Who coaches the team? Is it just player coaches or is there a real coach? Also how is your goalie?

our captains run things mostly. we also have a "coach" that comes to almost every practice and the games, but the student captains run things for the most part.
We have decent talent in net. No Allstars, but they're okay. If you're a freshman coming in with goalie exp., I'd say you have a good chance at being starting goaltender.
