Men's Head Coach. Available: Immediately. Deadline: July 15, 2013.
The head coach is responsible for all facets of the program and reports to the student-led Executive Committee.

• Develop and improve skills; to coordinate and direct team practices; to accompany team as coach to all event/activities; to assist in planning, coordination and evaluation of fundraising activities; to follow and enforce safety guidelines; and to promote good sportsmanship

• Conduct program in alignment with USC polices and guidelines.

• Supervise assistant coaches and auxiliary personnel (volunteer coaches, managers, etc.).

• Interface with the University and the Recreation Club Council (RCC), develop a good working relationship with RCC, and have an understanding of the RCC Resource Manual.

• Lead motivator for the team, in a constructive, positive manner. Leads each training session, leads each practice by developing and following a written practice plan.

• Counsel, mentor, and advise team members. Encourage and promote excellence in academics from team members.

• Give pre-game, half-time and post-game analysis.

• Communicate overall team strategy and policies to team and alumni.

• Network with other coaches from other schools. Attend all MCLA and SLC meetings.

• Develop team practice and game schedule in accordance with the University calendar and communicates this information well in advance of the season to players.

• Engage in public relations activities and promote the lacrosse program.

Lacrosse head coaching experience preferred. Prior experience with winning programs, either as player or coach, preferred. A demonstrated ability to teach the game at the highest level to all players new and experienced is a must. Experience with mentoring and advising players in a positive and effective manner is essential. Experience fund raising for a college men’s club lacrosse program helpful. Appointment: Part-Time, 9 months.
